Subscription continued after cancellation requests—still no refund
I intended my original April purchase to be a one-time order. The order totaled $54.83, but on June 21, I was charged another $42.85 for a “Scent Discovery Club” subscription that I did not knowingly intend to enroll in. That same day, I canceled the automatic payment agreement through PayPal and emailed Cupids requesting immediate cancellation and a refund. I also explained that the shipping address on file was no longer current. Instead of resolving the problem, customer service directed me to an online portal and then required me to complete an additional cancellation survey form. I completed the requested steps and followed up multiple times. Despite this, I received another upcoming-order notification on July 18, followed by repeated payment-attempt emails from July 21 through July 31. On August 7, Cupids admitted that the subscription was still active and again directed me back to the same portal. They also continued processing an order using the outdated address. The communication has been repetitive, unhelpful, and lacking accountability. The product did not live up to how it was advertised, and I still have not received my refund. Customers should carefully review the checkout process for recurring subscription terms and closely monitor their payment accounts. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.
