Very hard to get them to pay anything
The policy we purchased sounded great and we did a ton of research prior so we were happy to get this insurance initially…however, do not trust the policies! They find every reason not to pay you. You could call multiple times and speak to different people and managers and they all back each other. They do not care about the customer, just the money in their pockets. I had dental insurance and went and got my dogs teeth cleaned which I was then told he needed extractions when I submitted that to this insurance. They told me it was denied as it was during the waiting period of our policy. This was not a new policy. It was the second year I had this policy but apparently every year there’s a waiting period. Though I understood that, they tried to say his dental issue was pre-existing because his primary vet on an exam noted on an exam he had months ago what was explained to me as level 1 tarter. She said that meant he just needed his teeth brushed as he was a young dog I had found on the street and wasn’t cared for months. I tried to explain this to the insurance company and my veterinarian also wrote a letter. I went through their secondary review process, and it was again denied. I then emailed them to request a refund on the remainder of my policy term, which was another 6 months. I never heard back. Then I called and was told that they do not accept cancellations via email only over the phone so I would not be receiving anything from them. I’ve been told my whole life to make sure to put things in writing so people can’t deny it. I still have this email. I did everything right it was still told no I don’t understand how they can do this when I have proof. Terrible company. Do not get this insurance.
