Solid bank with great HYSA rate
I opened an account with Newtek Bank last year for some savings that I needed to keep separate from my other accounts. The experience was very straightforward. Online account opening went smoothly, transfers worked as expected, customer service was always helpful, and the interest rate is higher than most banks currently offer. The app worked reliably, which is a "must" for me. When my legal name changed I sent a secure message and they worked with me to verify my information and make the requested updates without delay. When I later needed to close my account since I no longer had a need for it, I sent another message and that was handled promptly as well. I never had to make a phone call to accomplish anything, which many introverts and tech-savvy individuals may prefer. There was, of course, a phone number available if I had needed help more quickly or wanted to talk to a person directly. I wouldn't hesitate to use Newtek again for future needs.
