Um… I have thoughts
Um… I have thoughts OK, here goes: I thought I would hate it. I thought it was a scam. I thought it would turn orange on my skin like all other colour changing foundations have in the past - for reference I have light olive to neutral skin, and a lot of foundations I use are too yellow for my skin tone. I bought the “Light” option (on the website) and when received, it said “For Light to Medium skin” (Um… ok?) It has only a very light scent, doesn’t smell chemical or perfume like. This stuff went on … OK. It’s very slightly orange on me, but not in a bad way - it’s something I can use in the warmer months because it gives a warmth to my face as opposed to straight up orange. It feels like a tinted moisturiser and gives a subtle glow; which I usually go for in a foundation because I am 42 and need just a little help there. The coverage - well, it says it’s buildable. I use 2 layers and it’s only light to barely medium coverage - which is ok. It definitely acts as a tinted moisturiser, I would not call this a foundation. It feels like a moisturiser, which is nice. I don’t know what I was expecting as far as how it feels, but it feels nice, and makes my skin feel “bouncy” which is surprising. It’s true that it doesn’t sink into fine lines; I have been close up examining my face, and no settling in my fine lines at all. Which - again, surprising. It does not irritate my skin, and I have eczema on my eyelids so I thought it would sting or feel uncomfortable there - it doesn’t, it just feels like moisturiser. Conclusion; truthfully, I am conflicted. I really thought it wouldn’t work out. But it’s fine. Like I said, it gives me warmth, like a sun-kissed finish, so it doesn’t work for winter, but I will definitely use this in the warmer months on the days when I just want the ‘natural’ look and would just use a BB cream or tinted moisturiser. It feels nice on. And has not caused any irritation, even on my eczema. So … I guess I like it. I gave it 5 stars, because I couldn’t give 4.5 - honestly the only thing I don’t like is that I can’t use it all year round because of the warmth it brings to my face. If you are pale - it will be too orange for you If you are light - I’d say it will be ok for the warmer months, and If you are medium - maybe it will work for you all year round. I’m confused. I’m pleasantly surprised - because I actually like this stuff.
