This product is terrible…unusable software
This product is terrible.. mechanically it has promise and good features but the software implementation is so bad that it is unusable. I have had one on my site in Melbourne Australia for 3 months and i now consider it landfill e/waste. Some basic software issues are. Terrible app UI with complete disregard for user experience Can not run for more than 3 minutes without some sort of error with no attempt to recover .. just calls me over. Software does not have any function or features or design philosophy to try and clear errors itself. Its so frustrating because when i go over these errors can be cleared by pause and restart or reset if the controller or user intervention movement. Its all done like total impractical uni project. No good error management.. the errors and manual intervention will drive you mad .. Do not buy this thing. Another example.. with every error on restart it not just continue.. when it was already on track but will turn randomly and head off in a random direction for 3 meters and start from there.. usually getting stuck again because the move was random. But it leaves a crazy section unmoved. I think the error recovery just runs the obstacle avoidance routine when that was totally inappropriate.. because the software coders are just a contractor who has never used the thing., Navigating in channels to to a mow zone obviously uses different code to mowing navigating.. it can not navigate a 50m channel on my curved driveway with out getting off track and stuck at least twice every time. So much intervention required and am finding it easier to just use my hand mower now. The blades jam with just small pencil sized sticks. They get stuck diagonally between the blade and the side discharge or upper side of the deck. The crazy thing is if the software would only release and retry a couple of time it could have self recovered i have gum trees all large sticks are picked up but i can noir go around clearing every pencil sized stick. Its is these small short sticks that jam with high reliability. With 1000m2 on a nice clear lawn i am talking 10 jams. But that will never happen.. i can tell there there is zero regard to good considerate software design. Another issue.. if the blade drives experience a high load in thick grass they go into a stop for a period..but the mover keeps moving for 5 meters ..!! So a terrible patchwork job. Who designed s product like that .. it should back up into the previously moved track and reset the blades and progress more slowly gor a bit….???? Terrible super frustrating product. If you buy this thing you will be here writing s review like this in a month. Bill
