Verify Your Promotion Before You Subscribe
Aug.01,2026 I was excited to sign up because I clicked the Facebook promotion for the FREE Odd Ollie Octopus Bed. Unfortunately, my subscription ended up with a completely different promotion (one extra toy per month), which was disappointing because the bed was the reason I decided to give BarkBox another try after several years away. I also want new customers to know that BarkBox is no longer shipped in a cardboard box. Mine arrived in a branded plastic mailer instead. The products were okay, but I was looking forward to my dogs’ first “BarkBox” unboxing experience, and that was a letdown. If you’re signing up because of a specific promotion, I strongly recommend confirming exactly which promotion is attached to your subscription before completing your purchase. Bark appears to be running many promotions at the same time, and my subscription ended up with a different one than the promotion I clicked. Rey from the Happy Team was kind, and professional throughout our conversation. Rey answered all of my questions, explained what my subscription includes, and offered a free month after I explained my disappointment. While I appreciate Rey’s efforts, I’m still disappointed because I signed up specifically for the Octopus Bed promotion, not the one extra toy promotion. My frustration is with the promotion process and the packaging, not with Rey, who did everything they could to help.
