It's OK if you just don't want to deal…

It's OK if you just don't want to deal with the hassle of going to court. But, I could have done this on my own. In fact, I probably could have gotten it reduced. I was considering contesting the entire ticket because the details that were written on the ticket would prove the doubt. A stop sign in the outskirts of town at 2am. Because I only stopped 2 seconds instead of 3?? And I have to pay 400?? I could have probably done better on my own. Also, when appearing in court yourself, you'll get the option to pay any fines in installments. They don't give this option through a lawyer. Again, this is not really any kind of lawyer and i realize they say this up front but they tell you they try for the best possible outcome. They quote you the range of what the court might fine. I guess it's the court i should be angry with because i called around to several police stations asking about this ticket and several of them admitted it sounded like cadet training. Which means it was a questionable ticket. So I'm not sure if it was the court or this lawyer because the "range" they quoted me at came out to the higher end of that scale. What would constitute the "lower" end of the scale if this ticket probably shouldn't even have been written?? This is literally just someone showing up in court for you and talking the worst possible deal. Traffic school and the original fee only like a 50 dollar difference. And again, showing up to court yourself will usually get you some kind of reduction plus you'll get the option for payment installments. Kind of disappointed but what's done is done. Hopefully there's not a next time but if there is and I have the time, I will certainly appear myself and save the money.
