Simply the best

Special thanks must go to Sebastiaan Martens at the Hatchbag Co. Sebastiaan is a great ambassador for the Hatchbag brand who appreciated I did not want to buy elsewhere, because as a dog lover I had seen how well they work in other people’s cars. Communications and regular updates with Sebastiaan were also excellent. Unfortunately, I had to wait 3 months before the correct cover for my new car, became available. Hatchbag products are made to measure, easy to maintain, durable, look great and the wait was well worth waiting for! Thanks again to all involved at the Hatchbag Co and keep up the good work.

It's OK but very expensive for what it is I didn't expect it to cover the boot light and vents for the money I would have thought the vents and lights would have been accommodated

Could not be happier!

Just bought a Hatchbag boot liner for my new Suzuki Ignis…honestly could not be happier with it. Super easy to fit and looks great! It is made to a really high standard and fits my boot perfectly to help protect from muddy dogs 🙈 you absolutely get what you pay for!

Excellent all round product

Excellent all round product. Quick delivery and a sturdy, practical liner which fits my boot perfectly. Easy to install. Only had it for a couple of weeks, so can’t comment on the durability- but seems to me it’s going to survive my two big dogs after their muddy walks for quite some time. Glad I paid a bit extra for the quality of this boot liner.

Best Boot cover you will ever buy

Bought boot cover, extension, tailgate cover for our Ford kuga. Was a bit unsure to buy as couldnt really tell quality on photos, I'm so glad I've ordered the quality is amazing, the nylon hook and loop are excellent grade. We used tar remover as instructed and fitting was easy, we did buy extra hook and loops to make sure it carnt be moved but was is provided does the job. The quality and fitting is superb, the customer service was amazing aswell helped us with making sure we got correct messurements and delivery was quick even thou stuff are made to order. If you are unsure on buying, don't worry you won't regret it. I won't be buying from anywhere else in future and already got family and friends wanting to know where we bought products from.

I pondered the question to buy or not…

I pondered the question to buy or not to buy for quite some time before opting to purchase a boot liner. As I was spending £30k plus on a new vehicle I decided that the additional £150 hardly mattered. The liner itself seems good although it’s thinner than I expected. It’s reasonably easy to fit and does cover the area quite well. However the things that I don’t like are that when fitted I cannot use the cubbys which are in the boot area.Hooks that are useful for hanging shopping on etc get covered and again are unusable. The parcel shelf has a specific area within the boot where it can be stored away when not being used and again this is impractical when you have the Hatchbag fitted. Also the cargo netting supplied with the vehicle cannot be used properly with the Hatchbag fitted. The spare wheel area cannot be accessed with the Hatchbag in place and unfortunately if you want to remove the Hatchbag liner after fitting,in my opinion the Velcro will pull at the fibre in the boot that it is attached to making a bit of a mess which may defeat the purpose in the first place.I have no doubt that this liner will keep the boot area clean and indeed might be ‘the best in class’ but I am not convinced that the pros outweigh the cons.If making the decision again I would opt for a good rubber boot tray.I have a Skoda Kodiaq

I'm very happy with the Hatchbag boot…

I'm very happy with the Hatchbag boot liner for my new Nissan Leaf. As it is a lease car I wanted to make sure my dogs did not scratch the paintwork when jumping in and out, so I got the number flap as well. This works fine, but when I first used it, my dogs were always so eager to get out that I did not have time to put the bumper flap in place before they jumped out. So, I attached a piece of fabric tape to the rear edge of the bumper flap (using velcro) and I leave the end of this outside the boot when the boot is closed. Now I can open the boot a tiny amount, pull on the tape and pull the bumper flap under the boot before opening it fully. Works perfectly. Hatchbag should adopt this idea, and attach the tape(s) to the bumper flap - they would do it better, I'm not sure if the velcro I've used will last.

50kg mastiff doesn’t even touch it! Good quality and great service

Great quality, we got ours in black and matched the carpet colour enough that it’s not intrusive. I’d say imagine a bouncy castle fabric and your close to the shine/texture. We have a 55kg mastiff cross and he doesn’t mark it up so we are happy! It fits perfectly and in the 2 series we only lost the use of 2 elastic hold down straps on the side of the boot, but I would rather loose them then my dog eat my boot!! A nice thought that it’s all designed and made in Britain. My suggestion to people with the same car is get the non reclined version and it means you can still recline the rear seats without the liner pulling on the Velcro. Just folds the liner slightly is all. We just got one for our 2 series Gran Tourer. Fits perfectly and was easy to fit. Velcro tabs are great and easy to fit if you follow the instructions. I would suggest using any degreaser on the plastic area where the tabs need sticking. I used lotoxane as I didn’t have any bug and tar remover. Suggestions for the company, at the price point you sell your products it wouldn’t eat into profits too much to put a small 50ml bottle of degreasing spray in with the kit? But great customer service and delivered within the 10 working days. We will be purchasing another when we replace the second car and a couple of friends have already placed orders

I would avoid...

I feel compelled to write this review and warn people not to buy the tailgate cover for their cars. I purchased a tailgate cover for my brand new Insignia Tourer and despite following all the fitting instructions I have had to buy at least 2 more velcro packs as it just will not hold. When I open the tailgate it just falls off. Be careful with this company too as they make you pay for replacement velcro even though it is clearly a design fault. Thanks Daniel Kuszel

Expensive, but worth it

I just received a Hatchbag bootliner for my Mini. Fitting was very quick and easy. I went with Hatchbag because the fit is superb and the material is high quality and more rigid than cheaper bootliners. The boot in my car is small, so fit is very important, a slack and floppy liner will rob precious millimetres of space. Folding the back seats down is easy, the small part of the seats not covered when folded flat is not a big issue in my car, it's only a couple of inches, so I didn't bother ordering the extension. The price is obviously an issue, but I can see this thing lasting for years. I will sell it if I change cars and put the money towards another Hatchbag. Buy cheap - buy twice.

A well made product but falls short on expectations and function

Why in a sea of 5* reviews am I giving only 2*? I purchased this for my F31 BMW estate which has a white leather interior (not my choice I hasten to add). I throw skis, climbing kit, kayaking gear and dirty MTB’s in the back which meant I needed something to protect said white leather which would of course be expensive to repair should it get damaged. On this basis I ordered a hatchbag with the front extension piece, split fold and tailgate pad which came to £230, a not insubstantial amount for a boot liner given you can pick up (albeit thinner) examples on ebay for 1/10th of this. Now there’s no doubting that Hatchbags are tougher and better made, but the actual material cost isn’t that much more than the cheaper products. So where does this extra money go? If you buy a standard boot liner for your dog and don’t fold your seats down then they’re actually not too bad, albeit its installation prevents you accessing either load tie down points or 12V outlets for powering accessories like bike/dog washers. None of the other liners offer this either, but for the extra money it would be nice to see some innovation to provide these extra features. The bigger issue arises when you come to fold the seats down. In standard form the cover still doesn’t protect the seat top, unless you spec the seat top cover but that means removing the headrests – not ideal if you want to carry rear seat passengers! So instead I ordered it with the extension piece that stretches out to Velcro onto the front headrests. This thing is huge, basically 1500x2000mm, but while huge it actually leaves a lot of the interior unprotected, in particular the leather side bolsters on the rear bench (see pics below). I raised this with Hatchbag and was basically told that they provide clear photos of what’s covered (I’d dispute it shows anything as clear as my photos), and anyway, nobody else has said it isn’t suitable. Now when putting bikes into the back of the car the most likely part to get damaged is the leather on either side of the aperture through into the main cabin, but this remains totally unprotected in the Hatchbag design. I have suggested making a slightly different design to protect this but their ‘senior’ designer responded that it was too expensive, too complicated and nobody would want it. Given you’re spending north of £200 on protecting your car’s interior I would say that many people probably would want this! It would be nice to see some innovation for the extra money over and above the ebay specials. The huge extension piece also takes up a fair amount of space when you fold it up to store in the boot. Unfortunately I’d used it (and still damaged my interior) before realising how many niggles and failures there are in the design and thus returning it wasn’t an option. I did however get additional material from Hatchbag to make the necessary adjustments (credit to them for sending it FOC). As such I now have Velcro flaps to gain access to the tie downs, sockets and bag hooks, as well as additional coverage to protect the seats more fully. I’ve also made a new flap to cover the top of the seats better (The full size extension while not adequately covering the interior also manages to flick mud everywhere because of its size), and cut off the hooks which loop over the rear headrests in favour of a heavy duty Velcro strip stuck to the rear of the load guard. This makes dropping the rear seats almost every other time I use the car a much less fiddly process. Ultimately the product is well made but lacks the innovation and features you’d expect for a premium product. If you just want a boot liner then it’s absolutely fine, although still rather expensive, but if you choose one of the more complex options they display even less value if you’re folding the seats down and regularly stuffing large and dirty items into the boot. Pros: - Well made, and manufactured in the UK - Tougher than ebay options Cons: - Very expensive if you want to fold the seats down - Doesn’t fully protect forward of the boot line and leaves a lot of interior fabric/leather exposed to damage - Prevents access to load tie downs - Prevents access to 12V accessory outlets

Another fantastic Hatchbag!

This is my third Hatchbag - two times a Focus and a Fiesta. As ever the service was fantastic ...even under the current situation. Fits like an absolute glove and red looks great in black ST line. Fred the Schauzer is very happy as am I. This is a fantastic company which has never failed to impress. PS...Really important to follow their advice re silicon removal.

Excellent Product

Previously used hatchbag boot liners in Toyota Avensis estates protecting the boot from fishing equipment. Have now fitted one to a Skoda superb estate. The material is top quality and the fit is perfect. Simple to fit with easy to follow instructions. This is an excellent product which cleans easily and copes with heavy use over long periods of time. Many thanks

Disappointing

Bought two years ago & very pleased until I came to change my car two months ago> I took the liner out & the seams were no longer held together. The stitching/glue had given up. It literally fell apart. I got in touch & this is what they replied 'I have discussed this with our designer and she assured me this is not the result of a design flaw on our part, but the liner may have been damp for an extended period or exposed to sea water and not cleaned afterwards.' It has not been either of those two things as I have dog beds on top of the liner which are regularly cleaned. They have not offered me anything. Yes, it is out of warranty but do we expect goods to only last for the term of the warranty? Very disappointed.

Good morning Mr Hood, I am sorry to hear you are disappointed, but I can confirm our liners last pretty much the lifetime of a car and over, you can see the very positive feedback customers leave on both the EKOMI platform and our social media (reviews we have no control over just like the one you left) If there was a manufacturing error the problem would have presented itself well before two years (which is the age of your liner), but we cannot endlessly guarantee it against every type of use. What we could see from the photos was a very dirty liner, which we could never take back for repair for hygienic reasons, (besides the age of it) and that seemed to have had a bit of a hard life ( not something we can offer unlimited guarantee for), that is why we could not suggest any solution for it. Kind Regards , The Hatchbag Company

Installed my Toyota Rav Hybrid Hatchbag boot liner, had great advice from Hatchbag via emails, they helped me make a small adjustment for the dog guard, No more dirty boot due to my mud loving spaniels. Well worth the cost.. will last me years,

Ordered the boot liner

Ordered the boot liner, bumper flap and hatchback door liner for my new Kodiaq vrs. When you spend that sort of money on a car, you want the best protection money can buy, especially with my old boy who is a 9 year old GSD. The liner arrived this morning and the part that took the longest time was going to Halfords for the tar remover. Once the silicon was cleaned off it was so easy to attach the velcro strips. The panels/shapes of the liner are perfect copies of the interior shapes of the boot carpets, and fit really well. The door cover was also a perfect fit. I ordered the blue liner and it's not out of place with the race blue colour of the car. I have the original Skoda rubber boot floor liner on top so I can see the quality Hatchbag liner should last a long long time. I am so glad I chose this liner over cheaper low quality ones, and I shall recommend this to anyone who is thinking of getting a liner.

A Great piece of kit.

After a lot of investigation I decided to order a boot liner from this company. I had bought cheap liners before and they were useless. The item arrived very quickly and I was very pleased with the quality of its construction, stitching binding etc. I recognised the material as the one used by the London Fire Brigade to make their breathing apparatus cylinder covers which take an absolute hammering but is very durable. I fitted the boot liner which was easy and the fit was spot on. There were spare Velcro strips in case of errors in fitting, Not looking properly I tried to put tailgate cover on upside down, easily remedied. I am very pleased with this item it looks great.
