An Amazing Journey!
I'm not usually one for writing reviews, but since this course is very much well-worth the investment (to say the least), I figured I'd share my experience.
There are many positive things to say, but here are the main takeaways:
1. The progression of the course is arranged very methodically, first introducing concepts, such as Harmonic Cell Theory & Intervallic Formulas, and then moving onto other advanced theory, including landing on chord tones & using permutations of the pentatonic scale.
2. The way that Noah teaches and explains the main idea(s) of the video is very easy to understand. It's especially helpful that he includes a resources section to reinforce the concepts. In addition, the weekly ear training video that directly relates to the overall theme of the week is beneficial, too!
3. The Q&A sessions are also helpful in the sense that Noah takes the time to elaborate and clarify anything that might seem confusing to the students. It's especially noteworthy that his calm personality is a positive bonus to his teaching ability.
Of course, it should go without saying that it's also such a huge plus for students to be able to access the course once it's officially over.
Overall, I had a great musical experience with the course and would highly recommend!

Hey Kenrick, really appreciate the thorough review! Laying Jazz Piano Secrets out methodically was an important goal of mine, so I'm really glad to hear it came across. And happy to hear you've found ear training beneficial. Thanks for being an awesome, active course member!

Great teacher
Noah Kellman is a very talented musician and an excellent teacher. I was lucky enough to learn jazz improvisation from him. He is a professional and understands the details of what he does. His course on jazz improvisation is the best resource for acquiring the skill of improvisation. In the course, everything is structured and gradually goes from simple towards complex. Also, he always gives a detailed answer to any question, and he is always interested in the success of the students. Thank you Noah for sharing your experience with us.

Noah is hands down the best
Noah is hands down the best. He will always give you more than you need so that you really get a concept under your fingers. Not only that but he actually teaches you how to work it into your playing, something no other course has done. The best thing is, if you’re stuck or would like some feedback then just reach out. He’ll give you honest useful feedback. He has done more for my playing in months than anyone has done in years. Thank you Noah 🤗

Thank, Nathan! For sure-- I think it's easy to find good information, but not so easy to find out how to really integrate it into your playing with a good system. As an educator, teaching that part of the process well is one of my biggest goals. Thanks for the review!

Such a great course and mentor
I have had the pleasure and honor of studying with Noah Kellman initially through his amazing YouTube videos, and more recently through both the Jazz Piano Secrets online course and a one on one mentorship program. In all cases Noah offers incredible content in a logically designed course. While The YouTube videos offers specific content on a particular subject the Jazz Piano Secrets course is a three pronged approach to improvisation through technique building, ear training and melodic/harmonic cell and line building through neo soul progressions. For all musicians either fully engaged in piano, wanting to get back into it or wanting to develop the piano as a second instrument I highly recommend this course.
But as important as the course materials are it is Noah himself who really makes the material breathe. He develops and facilitates a one on one relationship with all students through a public message board and delivers constant encouragement and suggestions along the way. Noah meets all students wherever they currently are and builds upon their desired direction.
His developed "systems" show a real commitment to pedagogy and does not follow the traditional approach to improvisation which is refreshing.
Working one on one has been truly engaging and encouraging. Having personally floundered repeatedly in the compositional arena Noah quickly identified a course of action which already has resulted in substantial improvement in just a few weeks. His ability to listen, offer advice, identify intent and create a unique personal approach fosters a relationship of trust and confidence. Those willing to put in the work will reap huge personal gains. His background is quite impressive but more so is his desire to share his knowledge and expertise in a mentorial fashion. His self effacing personality is disarming and his breadth of knowledge is a well of content to be applied to any individual situation.
Lastly, I believe if you follow Noah's process, let him engage in your desired direction you will develop a relationship that results in significant gains in your musical development.

Hey Cooke, thank you so much for the thoughtful review. It's been a great pleasure working with you, and I really appreciate the awesome work ethic and enthusiasm you bring to working together both in the one-on-one and class setting. You've got some seriously unique compositional ideas and I'm really excited to watch them develop far into the future.

Noah Kellman is an excelent piano…
Noah Kellman is an excelent piano instructor. The way that he teaches the piano is a very simple yet rich one. He says things that go directly to the point but doesnt leave out any information out. I have been learning from him for more than a year and everytime i have played something or applied a concept, my piano keep building up. Many instructor teaches you concepts that are nice but need a lot of knowledge to understand, but noah teaches you something that can be applied in the moment and also instructs you to where it can go and how it can go. Im very fond of his “killer ear training program” because he reveals how to ACTUALLY ear every chord, tone, progression, and licks step by step. With a very logical and practical procedure. Its just that good.

Hey Alejandro, really appreciate the positive review and I'm so glad to hear the programs are helping you move forward! Ear training is such an important part of development and my experience has been it's often overlooked, or not incorporated in a way that makes sense with the bigger picture. Keep up the great work!

Range and depth
Range and depth
Noah Kellman has unusual range and depth for a young pianist and piano teacher. I first saw his instruction on YouTube where he was demonstrating techniques from pianists ranging from Art Tatum to McCoy Tyner to Robert Glasper. His performance was strong and his explanations were patient and clear.
Based on those viewings I reached out to Noah for private video lessons. I found he has the same personality and style 1:1 that he does in his videos. In my lessons we broke down critical concepts and discussed how I could apply them to my playing. I was so pleased with the lessons that I have now joined one of Noah's online classes for continuing instruction. I highly recommend Noah for anyone who is learning jazz piano and wants to take some serious steps forward with their playing.
