ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE
Don't waste your time. I applied for a basic life insurance policy in January 2026. It is almost May 2026 and I still do not have an answer. They have been giving me the run around for four months, and still no answer. Multiple requests for records, multiple questions asked about the same thing over and over. They even started asking the same questions from 4 months ago because it has been so long that they forgot they asked me 4 months ago. A complete disaster. God forbid you need a policy ASAP for a business transaction like me. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

A very long approval process
The initial application process was straightforward and relatively simple. The interface was easy enough to navigate. The review and approval process, however, took an exceptionally long time - almost three full months. Once my application was approved, there was swift and active pressure to confirm my policy immediately (multiple emails, phone calls, and text messages from Ladder within 12 hours), which felt very much like a high-pressure sales tactic and was particularly off-putting after a three-month wait. Since I'm still alive, I can't speak to what the process will be like on the other end. I expect that it will take longer than my survivors will appreciate, but I'm sure it'll get sorted eventually.
