Taylor's lessons are easy to understand and follow. I've learned a great deal from him and feel that the lessons have given me a good start on moving forward with guitar playing.
I got a lot out of the lesson on “Sweet Home Alabama”. I love the way Taylor teaches the song in the simplest way and then gradually teaches the more advanced ways to play it. Sincerely, Arthur M.
Guitar Building Blocks is the best lesson program I’ve enrolled in. Taylor’s lessons are fun and easy to understand. I also love that I can learn at my own pace and apply what I’ve learned playing along to jam tracks. THE best part of the program are Taylor’s LIVE group coaching session every week. Taylor explains more in depth about skills and techniques we learn in the building blocks. And how they’re applied to popular songs. We can also book private sessions. I’m very happy I made the decision to join and truly grateful for Taylor’s guidance.
Felt lost and frustrated jumping from one YouTube “how to play guitar” video to another. Playing the guitar felt like a hopeless journey. . . until I gave MusicMatchr building blocks a try. Taylor is honest, encouraging, and always there when help, support, or encouragement is needed. The best part about the program, besides working, is the lessons are on my schedule and my current skill level. I can spend as much time I need mastering a lesson before progressing to the next lesson which is extremely beneficial for my later in life decision to pick up a guitar! Jump into MusicMatchr! You won’t be disappointed!
I am relatively new to Taylor's program but have greatly enjoyed it so far. While the program is geared primarily to new students, I have enjoyed it as someone who played in the distant past and am getting back into playing again. Taylor is incredibly patient and provides an excellent mix of basic theory and practical steps to get playing quickly, with basic chord shapes, strumming patterns and keys, integrated with playing contemporary songs to keep things interesting. Excellent program.
Taylor does a magnificent job in this course. One can take the course at their own pace, and Taylor makes himself available to answer any questions. It has certainly helped me in my quest to learn the guitar.
I love the program it is very Strong in contact the video instruction helps you to break things down and understand the guitar. If you're serious about learning the guitar this is the program that will make it happen.
The exercises are very good to learn to change chords quickly. The instructor is very dedicated to his students and the materials and training are quite professional.
Even though I've taken a break from Taylor's course, I have thoroughly enjoyed it. It's excellent how Taylor presents it an his live sessions. I hope to get back to jamming soon.
I like the format and the guidance. The fact that you can view recordings of weekly lessons as well as song tutorials is a real plus. The pace of going from module to the next completely messed with me...I still haven't gotten through chord picking with no end in sight. Power chords looks super easy but aren't, so stuck there too. Chord changes, while better, are still embarrassingly inconsistent. So overall the course barely got me out of beginner stage and I'm trying to find local in-person lessons and have stopped playing altogether as it was more frustrating than fun.
Thank you for your feedback. Please let me know if you need any help with the lesson material Michael, that's what I'm here for!!
Taylor has developed a system of building blocks that were very helpful to me. I had played the guitar on a very basic level of strumming and practicing the building blocks has helped me to improve quite a bit. I really love to participate in his weekly online sessions when I can because it's fun to follow his lead in applying different techniques to favorite songs. He is a great and enthusiastic teacher!
Taylor is an excellent guitar professional and really cares about his students. The program is perfect for my lifestyle I can move at my own pace. Taylor’s instructions are explicit and he takes his time explaining not only about songs but the guitar itself. I love his detail! Plus his live Saturday sessions rock!! Who does that? REALLY nice guy and great course and great instructor! I’m playing better than ever since signing up! I highly recommend!
I appreciate the update made to adjust the jam track BPM in small steps rather than big jumps from 60 to 75 and 90. As a new guitarist, it's improved my strumming ability to slowly increase the tempo. I appreciate that Taylor really listens to his students and makes changes that support our learning.
The Guitar Building Blocks program is well worth the money. The instructor Taylor has structured the modules in a logical way and my guitar playing definitely took a huge step forward. Easy to understand instruction and whenever I had a question Taylor would promptly respond to my emails. Once you sign up for this MusicMatchr program you are given lifetime membership which includes live weekly Internet jam sessions hosted by the instructor and accessible anytime after the live session.
I can honestly say Taylor's Guitar Building Blocks program has transformed my approach to learning how to play the guitar and I made more progress after a few weeks of following it than I did using any of the popular online programs like Fenderplay. The structure and layout is great with videos explaining what you are trying to achieve and why its important to follow the tempo on the jamtracks and build the all important muscle memory. Taylor has a very sound way of explaining the theory in simple terms, and doesn't cloud your head with too much jargon and as a beginner that's great to understand and work on the basics. I have just recently completed the course but I will be going back over it time and again to pick up new chords, strumming patterns etc and learn them in the same way. I haven't yet attended the live group coaching classes, but I hope to build up the confidence to do these soon. Also, there is an incentive bonus of a new guitar once you complete the course, which is great and I'm looking forward to receiving mine soon. All in all, I can honestly recommend this course to anyone struggling to learn the guitar, it's a sound investment.
MusicMatchr Guitar building blocks is well done! Taylor Barnett has put together a set of lessons that work for beginners like me but can also help guitarists with experience reach a new level.
The instructions are very clear. I appreciate the process of changing chords although I am still struggling with the required speed in order to keep up with the beat. Overall I believe the program will help me get better.
I've only been with The Building Blocks for four months. I've learned more with this program . I have had my guitar for 30 years and can play more on it now than ever. Taylor is a great instructor and explains what you need to know to get started playing that guitar.
I have been attempting to play guitar on and off for approximately 20 years. Prior to enrolling Guitar Building Blocks, my practice habits were not focused and lacked discipline. Since enrolling in Guitar Building Blocks, I have found that my practice routine has structure, and by practicing the same way each day, I have seen improvement in my performance. My finger dexterity has definitely improved due to the Muscle Memory exercises. In addition, my chord base has expanded and strumming improved. I'm definitely glad I enrolled in the program.
