Loved this trip

Loved this trip. Although the route was partly changed due to recent wars, our experience during the trip was still as good as what we originally expected The scenery, the local food, the historical sites, all made beautiful memories. Our tour guide’s daily story about Greek mythology made our trip very interesting. She is also very detailed and caring. I would like to have future trips with her again.

Turkey trip from May 8th to 19th 2026

Program schedule arrangement was good, especially had a local tour guide accompany the whole trip. However the Turkey trip from May 8, 2026 to May 19, 2026 had a incompetent Tour leader who was unprofessional, inexperienced, unfamiliar with any place other than China. Most unacceptable things are that she didn't check out the fact and just respond irresponsibly. Didn't help member to resolve issues with the hotels, such as no WI-FI and no phone dial tone. Arguing with the tour guide based on her limits knowledge from China. And called Taiwan "Province" using communism party members's tone treated customers. Didn't talk about history or geography of the place we visited but talked about her father's experience in the U.S. and disliked tour guide from Taiwan. And added commercial shopping with leather coat which is not in the program.

Sicily/southern Italy tour with my parents…

I had a wonderful time with my parents on the Sicily tour. Our tour guide James went above and beyond. My parents really appreciate the in-depth presentation on local history and the real-time Chinese translations over the radio as the local tour guides speak in English. His dedication to us and the trip is highly appreciated. We hope to have James as our tour guide again on future tours.

An Unforgettable Experience – Wei Chen is the Absolute Best! "Scandinavia & Fjords" was hands-down the highlight of our trip, and that is entirely thanks to our incredible guide, Wei Chen. From the absolute moment we met, he brought an incredible energy, warmth, and professionalism that set the tone for the whole day. Wai Chen didn't just rattle off dates and facts; he told captivating stories that brought the history and culture to life. He was also incredibly attentive to the group—making sure everyone could hear, keeping a perfect pace, and seamlessly managing all the logistics without us ever feeling rushed.

Best of Eastern Europe in the Spring

I did the Best of Eastern Europe tour at the end of April / beginning of May with my parents and a friend. Overall the tour was great with a very full itinerary. Wei was an excellent guide which makes a huge difference given the number of cities the tour covers. He did a wonderful job communicating details for each day and setting expectations (activity level, rest stop breaks, etc). Wei is incredibly organized! The booking for the tour was fairly straightforward. We opted to purchase our own airline tickets + extended our trip on both ends. We worked with the company to ensure they had our details. The tour itself covers a lot of cities and countries so the days were long. The tour had a nice mix of visiting cities as well as natural beauty (ie: Plitvice, Postojna Caverns, Neuschwanstein Castle). We loved all the boat & river cruises offered. The daily schedule was split between sightseeing and bus travel. The guide & driver did a good job splitting up the drive with rest break. For the destinations with city walking tour, we had ~1hr free time to explore on our own which was nice. Accommodations were as advertised and met expectations. We did have bad service at the Holiday Inn in Munich (dinner was served an hour late and the dessert was clearly several days stale). I believe this was a reflection of the hotel staff and our guide had done his best to correct the service. Hopefully Peony will reconsider this hotel for future tours. A couple of small details that made this a 4 vs 5 star experience. While the booking process was straightforward, we could tell there was a bit of disconnect in tour details when working with the Peony office staff vs tour guide. In the end, everything worked out, but there was a small delay in getting the information we needed. The dinner at a few places was just OK- one dinner was on par with licking a salt block and few of the set dinners, while massive portions, were heavy on the meat, ie (90% meat). The other minor improvement was our free time in Prague. We (unexpectedly) had 2.5hrs of time to explore Prague on our own. I felt we could have used more guidance on where to explore given the area around the clock tower was overwhelmingly packed with tourists given we had so much time.

12-day Spain & Portugal tour

We had a wonderful 12-day Spain & Portugal trip in late April 2026. The itinerary was perfect and the pace was just right for us. Our tour guide Jeffrey was very knowledgeable, professional, and caring. The entire tour was well planned, managed, and carried through. We are looking forward to another Peony trip in the fall.

Ancient Glories of Greece with Aegean Island Cruise

This is the fifth time I join Peony tour. I would say while in general Peony has done a great job in tour arrangement including transportation, accommodation, food and tour guide, the tour guide is the soul of the tour satisfaction. I just finished Greece tour and luckily had Ann Tsao as our tour guide. She is a wonderful guide, caring, thoughtful, organized, professional and passionate. She is very dedicated to her job and wouldn't mind running an extra mile for you. I look forward to having her as our guide again in our next trip with Peony. Thanks again Ann and Peony.
