I am disappointed with this shipment.
The styrofoam container was way too large for the contents inside. This allowed significant shifting of product during shipment. Another words the tamales got banged up quite a bit. The worst affected were the cheese tamales, with cheese leeched out of the masa!
Plus there were only 4 ice packs besides. That was not enough for keeping all those tamales cold. And it definitely didn’t provide any filler for the empty space inside!
I do not know the source but a lot of moisture came out of the interior container leaking out onto the cardboard box! It was soaked on both ends.
The bag of Queso enclosed was not ordered. I threw it out because it was outdated. Are the tamales outdated too? Is that why they were on sale?
These are by far the best tamales I have had since I was in high school and my friends mom made them. The masa was just right and the ckicken flavorful and moist.
The flavor of both your pork and beef tamales are excellent but the texture of the masa is not. Boiling them causes the masa to fall apart. Homemade tamales are strong enough to pick up and eat. I will have to try different cooking methods.
Tried our first order of Lonestar Tamales. They arrived fast and packaged with dry ice, so they were in perfect condition. Tried the chicken and pork tamales that evening. Absolutely fabulous! Will definitely be ordering again.
The ordering process was very easy and simple. Shipping was prompt and they arrived at my home in 3 days from ordering. We haven't eaten any yet so I can't respond to the taste. I'm sure they'll be fine.
Last night we had a Nacho Cinco DeMayo party at the Fincastle Knights of Columbus and everyone enjoyed the tamales! We had a few people that never had tamales before and they loved them! What a great event and great tamales ❤️
Ordered for my South Carolina cousins. They loved the chicken and the beef tenderloin tamales. Loved the queso and the chili. Most found the pumpkin tamales a little odd--not really sweet, but too sweet for regular meal. Said they tasted more like corn than pumpkin. (I like the pumpkin tamales.)
