I am a senior citizen from Malaysia. Ulum Al-Azhar Academy under the guidance of Ustazah Fatin had exposed me to the 'new' study of the 'Ilm al-Qira'at while almost throughout my life I have only been taught and study only Riwayah Hafs'an 'Asim. Its an interesting although quite challenging study of the various recitation of the Holy Qur'an for me. I can never thank Sheikh Ahmad for encouraging me to delve into this study and Ustazah Fatin for her patience and dedication.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful experience. We’re truly honored to be part of your journey in learning ‘Ilm al-Qira’at. May Allah reward Sheikh Ahmad for his encouragement and Ustazah Fatin for her patience and dedication, and grant you continued strength and barakah in your studies.

Very helpful, patient, and caring teachers. Attending lessons with Ulum Al Azhar made it easier to consistently memorise the Quran, and most importantly, without mistakes that could change the meanings of words. I have been studying with them since July, and have been enjoying my lessons since.
Thank you for your kind words! We’re happy to hear the teachers have supported your memorisation and helped you recite correctly. May Allah bless your journey with the Qur’an and keep it beneficial for you.

I recently started a course with Ulum Alazhar Academy this month and have completed my first two lessons in the Ashab As-Sila package with Ustaz Mohamed Salman. I would like to express how truly satisfied I am with these initial sessions. I believe that Ustaz Mohamed is highly knowledgeable in his field, but what stood out to me most is his ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and accessible way. He ensures that every point is well understood, which I believe is one of the strongest qualities a teacher can have. I am very pleased with this experience so far, and I sincerely hope to continue learning with him throughout this package—and beyond, insha’Allah.
Thank you for your kind and thoughtful feedback! We look forward to supporting you throughout your journey, in sha Allah!
Experience – Uluum al-Azhar (Maqam) with Ustadh Samir** I’ve been taking the *Uluum al-Azhar* course online with Ustadh Samir, focusing on *maqāmāt*, and it has been an eye-opening and rewarding experience. Ustadh Samir is incredibly knowledgeable, and his teaching style combines deep scholarship with clarity and patience. Learning about the different *maqāmāt* under his guidance has helped me appreciate the depth and precision of Islamic tradition in a whole new way. He makes complex topics accessible and always ties them back to their practical and spiritual relevance. Even though the course is online, the experience feels personal and engaging. Ustadh Samir creates an environment where questions are welcomed, and learning is taken seriously. I’ve grown in both understanding and appreciation of Islamic sciences through this course. Highly recommended for anyone looking to study traditional knowledge with authenticity and depth, especially those interested in the beauty and structure of *maqām*.
Thank you for your insightful and heartfelt feedback! Highly appreciated!

Ulum Al Azhar is the first place where I officially started to learn the proper recitation of the Quran along with memorization. I am amazed at how kind and patient everyone is. Ustadh Ahmad, Ustazah Nada, Ustazah Gehad! Especially Ustazah Gehad, my Quran teacher, she is so patient and the classes feel warm and welcoming.
