My 8 year old daughter has been doing voice lessons with Junior for several months, and her confidence in singing has improved so much! I had the pleasure of working with Junior Kukuewa Jr for the better part of two years while I was stationed in Hawaii. I’d come to him particularly insecure about singing, I wasn’t terrible, but lacked breath support, knowledge of voice resonance, and above all CONFIDENCE. Junior, is not just a vocal coach he’s honestly a life coach. The man will never allow you to doubt your own ability, he’ll only encourage you to push and grow. A philosophy I learned from him, never be afraid to color outside the lines. If a note fell flat or a slight mistake was made, we’d shake it off and started again. I’m the most confident and proud of my voice than I’ve ever been and I truly don’t think that would’ve happened without him, and I could not recommend him more to anyone. My 11-yr-daughter needed to improve her voice in a very short amount of time to oli/chant strong for her hula competition. (She’s a kind of girl who always talks so soft almost like mumbling.) We had only two weeks or so left before the comp, Junior instructed her to focus on practicing just this one exercise as much as possible, so she did. Towards the very end of her journey to the comp, she was practicing her oli and said “ wow I can’t believe this is my voice. It doesn’t sound like mine at all! “ She gained so much confidence, she had a lot of fun on the stage! Junior is a talented and consummate professional, and if you follow his direction, he will deliver on any promise he gives you, whether you are a beginner looking to improve your skills or an experienced singer seeking to hone your craft. When I started, I was an Army officer with no musical talent. I was disciplined and motivated, but I was very skeptical that I could ever learn how to sing. But I swear, if you listen to what he has to say, follow directions, and do your best, he will take you exactly where you want to go with your voice. He believed in my ability to improve even before I did, and now I have the ability to stand out in a crowd and confidently sing at any karaoke venue and am having a blast doing it. Junior believes in every single one of his students, and he will not let you fail if you try. He will over-deliver at every opportunity.
