We have been working with Alta for several years; we often need to test languages that are not commonly tested. When I contact the people at Alta to request a test from them, they are always quick to respond and very helpful. We have not had any problems with Alta.

Great overall - room for improvement
We really appreciated having a company that asked questions and was certified. Overall the quality was great. A few things that would improve the experience include better communication. When assigned the project, the original timeline was 7-10 days turnaround. The actual turnaround was over 2 weeks. Translations were Spaniard spanish though Latin American Spanish was requested at intake. Content of some translations changed the meaning of the question and was specific to the survey measure. Examples of this include: question 6 and question 10 on the CHAOS scale. Question 6 reads my house is a real zoo. it was translated chaos instead. In our house there is too much noise. it is hard to concentrate. The original questions reads I cannot hear myself think in my house.

The interpreter knew all the correct terminology but he spoke so fast but Spanish was perfect. I had to keep reminding him to slow down for my mom as she is elderly. But often continued to speak fast and so had to re-explain myself to her. Thats the only suggestion I would give. And perhaps to remind the lawyer to also not say so much before giving him an opportunity to explain.

Communications via email, Conrad was very quick to respond to my many questions since this was our first year giving the tests and the only student that didn't speak Spanish, so she had to take a different test than the others.
