At this time, all shipping costs are based on live rates directly from the carrier, with FedEx rates discounted by 15%. These rates factor in the order weight and destination address, as well as restrictions on certain flammable materials, such as some alcohol-based extracts. These rates also fluctuate based on labor, fuel, and seasonal demand costs. Shipping from the West Coast to the East Coast also requires significantly more resources from the carrier, and this is reflected in the shipping costs they charge. Additionally, deliveries to rural or remote areas tend to be a bit higher due to the extra fuel and labor required for these deliveries. While many companies cover shipping costs by including them in higher product prices or subscription fees, we prefer to remain transparent about these costs. The good news is that carriers base the bulk of the shipping charges on the first pound of the shipment's weight, meaning you can add additional items and only see a few cents in additional cost up to a certain weight. While this may not be suitable for everyone, this can be an opportunity for cost savings. Regarding your new tea tins, the teas in your order are both currently in stock in the 1lb size, but we understand if you prefer to order the smaller size so you can try it before committing to larger quantities. We are located in Oregon, so packages can take a bit of time to get to the East Coast. Your order left us on July 9 and was delivered on July 15, which is ahead of the estimated delivery window of July 16 to July 19 listed on your order at checkout. The tracking email was sent to the email we have on file on July 9 at 8:16 AM PST, and uploaded to your online account at that time. Tracking details can be found by logging in to your account, clicking the order you would like to track, and then scrolling to the bottom of the order detail page. Again, we apologize if you did not see this email or the tracking details in your account. After reviewing the FedEx delivery photo, I see that it was left on the shared back porch between your address and the next-door neighbor. This is the address that was provided when the order was placed, but again, we are sorry if this is not what you intended. The good news is that the packaging and materials we use during shipment are designed to protect your products from degradation. The average shipping and delivery time a package encounters is unlikely to be long enough to cause harm to most products, including the extracts in your specific order. The main concern is a combination of heat and light exposure during long-term storage, so even products left out for several days should not be adversely affected. However, if you notice signs of degradation or decide you cannot use the extracts, you may return them to us.
