Most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Consumers generally find the advanced robotic lawn mowers remarkably easy to set up and use, appreciating the efficient cutting performance and reliable daily operation across various lawns. Many people also highlight the exceptionally helpful customer support and remarkably smooth repair processes provided whenever technical issues occur. However, some customers also noted frustrating experiences regarding unexpected device breakdowns and completely unresponsive support teams during critical moments of need. Reviewers frequently reported severe mechanical failures, problematic software updates, and major difficulties getting timely replacement parts to fix their broken machines.

This machine is for the most part…a champ!

This machine is for the most part wonderful and does what is expected. Joey B, as my Aunt named him, cuts my steep hills. It does however miss a few spots within the cutting area consistently. I also have 2 small areas that are out of sight of the RTK because of my house, I cannot get Luba to connect with. It's aggrevating but minor in entire scheme. I have an acre with 2 70% slopes of rough terrain. Luba has been a champ.

Awesome Product, keeps getting better with releases

In areas with open sky, this thing works wonders. Perfectly straight lines and grid patterns, looks amazing and I think is helping the health of my grass by killing off weeds because it is kept so short. I am going to have to play around with moving my RTK station higher on my house for my back yard, there is lots of tree cover there. If it weren't for the back yard with heavy tree cover I'd give this 5 stars. My home is in the middle of 1 acre, front and side yards mow perfectly with full sky view. Back yard, it kind of stops/moves slow and restarts itself. It eventually gets the job done after about a half day of wandering around, so I still don't have to do it. Conclusion: Even with the heavy tree cover challenges, this thing is amazing and gives me my family time back. It keeps the grass cut short, so I can see snakes and critters if we have any. If you can make it do weed trimming and edging too, I could stay cool all summer.

Hardware Great, Software Getting there

The product hardware is great. The software is still lacking some features, but Mammotion is updating this frequently. I have not needed to reach out for support, but I have heard support response is slow. I am sure this is due to a high volume of new customers and will settle over time. I look forward to NOT mowing my yard for many years.

Mammotion Luba AWD 5000 - great product, service/support should be much better

My Mammotion Luba AWD 5000 robot lawn mower is fabulous product. I have quite a complicated lawn and a wire guided robot mower was never an option. Enter GPS or RTK (satellite) guided lawn robots. The Luba is not cheap, but excellent value to the competition. I think Mammotion success has got ahead of them. Excellent product. Poor customer service. When I ordered my robot on 18th June, I also ordered a roof/garage. The Luba arrived in reasonable time. But despite chasing 4 times, the garage has not arrived. And Mammotion service support are quite slow to respond or answer back to the historic requests. So I do believe Mammotion will improve their service and support to match the product. But I’m UK, I am unclear when this will happen. Updated 5th May, 2024. Service and support has improved. Now support provided through the app. Still no service partners in UK. But if they keep improving at the rate they are, this will be a fabulous product, with good service.

Set up was simple

Set up was simple. App intuitive. Programming straightforward. Mows well. Issues- do not receive notifications unless app is open. If luba gets stuck and battery dies, last position is lost and must start task completely over. When undocking to start task will sometimes lose connection for several minutes before restarting. I would like to see variety in the starting points for tasks so a "path" is not wore into the grass from each mow. Adding additional mowing patterns would be a nice addition in the future as well. Overall you built a great affordable mower and for that I am greatful!! Thank you for taking the time to listen to your "users" and work out any kinks. I look forward to the future and bragging to everyone I meet about my luba. Thanks again

Pleased so far but could really be good with a few tweaks

Researched several auto mowers for months and decided on Luba, mostly because of the wireless perimeter and advertised features. So far I’m well pleased with how it’s doing but will admit I was concerned for a while. It took several remapping of zones and testing various cutting patterns, speeds and connection paths before having a setup I felt would work best for me. One feature I wish it possessed was ability to track the Luba with satellite in case it is stolen. There is no mention of this capability in documentation. I would like to sleep with ease knowing if someone took it from my front yard at night I’d be able to track it down. I have a Roborock for our home. Would be great if the Luba engineers would purchase a Roborock and see some of the mapping capabilities and implement some of the spot zone mowing functionality. There are times I want to mow part of a zone that didn’t get completed last mowing. There are times I try to initiate a mowing session remotely only to have the Luba move 5 ft from charging station and just sit for hours with me helpless to do anything. Only when I return home and manually move mower back to charging station can I use it again. There’s also times the mower may stop and require you to push a button to make it continue mowing or return home. Can’t that be put as a function in app? Frustrating to have to return home just to push a button when I could just as easily pushed it on the app. Have to slow mower down so it cuts grass evenly. Otherwise there will be sprigs sticking up everywhere. Don’t plan on running mower at higher speeds or yard will look blotchy. Obviously slower speed means it will take much longer to finish (and look nice) so plan on night mowing sometimes if you have large yard. Haven’t had to use customer service yet so nothing helpful to you there. Except that I’ve had it 2 months mowing 2-3 times a week and not had to need customer service. Overall I’d buy it again but I do hope they continue to improve capabilities that can be implemented thru OTA app downloads and firmware upgrades.

Programming the Luba to cut the grass…

Programming the Luba to cut the grass is frustrating and has to be done several times as the Luba doesn’t get it right all the time. In one of my task areas the Luba keeps trying to mow where it should not. Very frustrating, indeed. But when Luba gets it right, it’s great.

The Luba is REALLY good and getting better.

We have just over an acre of area to be mowed. The Luba does a good job mowing and doesn't require a lot of interaction. Setting up the areas to mow, no-go zones and travel areas was straight forward. I do on demand area mowing so I've not used the scheduling feature yet. The degree of position accuracy when mowing is impressive. The Luba device is able to mow steeper inclines very well. My mowing area has several trees which sometimes cause loss of GPS but when signal comes back Luba continues the job. There are a lot of parameters available to tune the mow. Single and Double mow patterns with the ability to set the angle is great. Being able to set the level of object detection also allows for flexibility when handling various lawn features like rail fences. Map handling is done well in the app. Being able to modify area boundaries is great for tuning the mow. However, modifying area boundaries for adjacent areas has a bug where it won't setup a common boundary during modification but it can when creating new areas. The software has improved each release. There are still some needed additions like push notifications for issues, named mowing areas, no-go zones independent of containing mowing area.

Best product out there, still needs tuning though

I've owned a landroid that uses a wire for years. There support is friendly, technical, and available. BUT they update allot and rarely fixes issues without causing other issues. Spent way to much time babysitting and tweaking to get it to mow the lawn. Plus it took all week to do what takes a half of one day to do with the luba . And it looks nice with the straight lines, and I know all the grass is mowed. Vs the landroid will have random little triangle patches not mowed. The luba is lacking in customer service at the moment. BUT they are using there resources to refine there product so no one needs to call support. I would say in next few months there will be little reason to call support. Remember they are a start up.

Luba AWD5000 first 3 months

I purchased a Luba AWD5000. Now in use for about three months, mowing 3 complex areas around 4000m2 total. Set at 50mm cutting height. After some trial and error to set exclusion zones around some exposed tree roots, it has performed very well. The hardware and software is generally outstanding. I had to instal a WiFi extender to get remote coverage of the area rather than rely solely on Bluetooth - it would certainly be a useful addition to have a 4G module as an alternative. I have been waiting for nearly six months for a back ordered ‘house’ and some spares. Probably my biggest frustration has been the lack of blade covers on this machine. This means that grass becomes wedged around the blades and prevents them spinning freely. Other brands such as Husqvarna have these and they work well. I am now experimenting with 3D printed covers, but really shouldn’t have to do so.

Overall a really excellent robot mower

Overall a really excellent robot mower. Easy to set up. Easy to use the app and amend the boundaries. Intelligent mowing patterns and the lawn has massively improved as a result. The only issue (hence 4 rather than 5 ⭐️) is occasional loss of satellite signal when underneath trees so it gets stuck for a while (and sometimes needs repositioning to pick up signal). Very impressed so far!!

Invalid tracking link but mower arrived and works well

Update June 22: The mower did a good job of cutting our lawn yesterday. It sometimes stopped for a while with a position information error when it was underneath trees which perhaps obscured its connection to satellites, but I am encouraged that this mower will function adequately. Previously: The email confirming delivery of my mower had a Fedex tracking link which was invalid. However, when I clicked the link back to my order, I reached a Fedex tracking number that was valid. And I did receive my Luba AWD 1000 June 14; I placed the order May 15.
