This is called "verification amount" or "test transaction" which is used by banks and payment systems to verify that you've provided actual/real data while registering your account. Our apologies if any confusion, Gary! pdfFiller is a cloud-based solution, so yes, to use the 30-day free trial period you would need to be logged in with your email and a password of your choice. Ideally, you'd need to log in first, then start document editing. Sorry if this was not obvious!
