Skoolbo is a full curriculum learning program for four to ten-year-olds. Children are immersed in an incredible learning world and are highly motivated by the inbuilt rewards. Subjects include Reading, Writing, Numeracy, Languages, Science, Brain Games and more.
My students and I dislike the updated version that has all the choices of subjects to complete. My students are younger and they can't quite read some of the choices for topics. I do like that I can still give them tasks to complete. It also takes FOREVER to load/start up on an iPad and the kids get so impatient. In all honesty, the kids dislike it now and have nearly quit using it altogether... which really stinks because they used to enjoy racing each other. They used to LOVE it!
Love using Skoolbo in the classroom with my students and at home with my daughter! My students love that they are able to get new achievements by way of different Snazzimals or gaining access to the locked games by getting numbers in their apple. My students think that they are just playing a game but they are actually learning to add, subtract, put together sentences, and more. I love this program
Our children love the programme. It is easy to use, supports literacy and numeracy development from early childhood up. And so far free to the school which is a great help.
Love it, but glitches made it too difficult to manage
My students love the new snazzamials but with the glitches this year we both became frustrated. 1) Skoolbo continued to go back to the AU login instead of USA and couldn't figure it out 2) the stories were so long for K level that it was too much. The tech support was excellent at first, but when they said it was an issue on our end, I knew it wasn't so I gave up... I may try again, but now we are getting Chromebooks so it may wait until next year?
My kids (ages 8 and 10) really enjoy using Skoolbo, every day if possible! The lessons are easy to follow and completing tasks is rewarding with games and growing their collection of little animal-characters (I can't remember what they're called). We are homeschoolers and we use Skoolbo as a supplement, reward and just a bit of a fun break.
I feel disappointed in the company since deciding that parents now have to pay for the program in order for kids to further their education at home.
I was always recommending the program to others, especially to parents who have children with sensory processing problems or other disabilities. I am unable to do that now, as these parents have to pay for other outside services and are unable to afford extra. Disappointing since they all mentioned how you program was benefiting their children.
My students are not as excited about skoolbo since the format change. They really dislike that they can only get one snazzimal a day. They also liked being able to select outfits and buy things with their prize winnings. I like that they cannot buy things as it was a constant issue for me. I still like the content that is provided.
My students truly enjoy using Skoolbo! I use the reports as a way to know how to further assist my students.
When I started using Skoolbo, it automatically took the students to the next activity at their level. Now, it requires them to choose an activity. I prefer the that system choose for them. That is my only suggestion.

Trustworthy company, but the app isn’t that great any more - too complex, too many options you can’t get rid of, loads slowly etc. we’ve moved to a different app since the ‘upgrade’.

We get the ‘Daily Challenge’ games free through my son’s school but wouldn’t pay for any more. While I can see the games are educational, I preferred the older version where it was all games and you could choose to keep playing. Now, however, any extra games seem to be barred unless we pay extra and at least half of the daily challenges aren’t challenges at all, just out of context facts about world locations or why to put your money in a bank. We have also encountered quite a few problems - missing games, application crashing mid-game etc - so would not be prepared to pay a monthly fee when there are plenty of other free educational games online.
I have students who still cannot access the program, their usernames and passwords do not work.

My students love Skoolbo! When it is "Tech Time", I have many requests to play it. I find it is a great tool to differentiate towards the many levels I have in my special education classroom. I like how they can play on the computer or on their Ipads. I also like how I am able to access progress reports, and see how everyone is doing.
A wish of my students is to be able to compete against their classmates, and always not random strangers. In addition, the app can be very glitchy and freeze from time to time. That is why I have not given 5 stars.

One of the challenges of playing against each other is the different speeds of devices and networks to ensure a quality user experience believe me it is a real challenge!
Have you also tried the web version as it has some great new functionality - reading blitz, my writing etc... which I am sure your class would enjoy.

I like the daily challenges as it encourages you're child to login everyday as it only takes 5-10 minutes at a minimum. i.e. It's a tough sell to get them to spend half an hour on everyday on top of school homework.

If I had been asked this question…awful since the changes
If I had been asked this question before the update it would have been 5* but the changes are awful, before it was fast and fun but now kids sit just want it over which is such a shame

Are your children using the web or app version? The racing and learning games haven't gone anywhere they are all still present we have just added in more lesson content which necessitates a change in balance.
Have they tried reading blitz or any of the brain breaks or bonus games these are fast and fun and getting a lot of traction.
