Vehicles for Veterans has proudly donated close to 200 million dollars to charities across the country. You are welcome to contact any of our benefiting charities directly and they can personally confirm the impact your donation helps make. Jeff, We’re sorry to hear about your experience and want to clarify a few things so there’s no confusion. The request for your Social Security Number is not from us- it’s a requirement from the IRS (the government), not Vehicles for Veterans. The IRS requires a donor’s SSN for any vehicle that sells for more than $500 if you plan to itemize your taxes and claim a deduction above that amount. You don’t need to provide it if you’re not itemizing or don’t wish to claim the tax benefit. Regarding your donations, I can confirm both motorcycles were processed through our normal auction and title-handling system, and we’re actively working through the title issue you mentioned to ensure everything is properly transferred and closed out. We truly appreciate your generosity in donating two motorcycles to support veterans, and I apologize that the pickup process and communication were frustrating.
