To clarify, the security deposit excess limit is a mandatory requirement enforced directly by the local car rental supplier to release the vehicle. Furthermore, individual suppliers set their own payment policies, which includes restricting certain card networks like American Express for local security or processing reasons. These payment and deposit requirements are explicitly outlined on your rental confirmation voucher under the 'Security Deposit' and 'Payment Card' sections, as well as in the Terms and Conditions agreed to during booking.
