I've been using SmallRig for my professional and "just for fun" video and photographic equipment supplement needs. I own an event lighting company. I was excited for a compact, battery powered gobo projector and ordered one to test. The website has a variety of packages but doesn't say what's included with any of them. I tried to rely on the photos, but apparently the lens/shutter combo wasn't included with my package even though it was clearly shown in the picture.
Overall the product is nice, but has some perplexing design choices. Here's a brief list of likes and dislikes:
Likes:
-- even field though there is some light bleed on the narrow end of the zoom.
-- nice zoom range
-- great brightness
-- feels solid in hand
-- the plastic gobos in the silicone snoot are soft focus but usable for texture/break-ups. Plastic gobos will be easy for me to make with my CO2 laser cutter.
-- can run full power from USBC (according to spec, I haven't tested)
-- easy mounting options with 1/4" thread receiver in body.
Dislikes:
-- only 5 colors. I don't understand why they did 5 separate COB for each color instead of one chip with color control. Maybe for flicker?
-- dimming knob is clunky. Light flashes a couple times when you get to the end of the dimming curve on each side. would make it impossible to fade in or out for video.
-- no remote control
-- as mentioned above, incomplete descriptions on website.
My shipment took over a month without explanation. there was an approximate date on my account eventually but it arrived about a week after that.
Still on the fence about whether I'll be buying more for my inventory. I will need to test the gobo/shutter lens add on. Overall it's a good light for the money.

The order was shipped from Japan, and it arrived here in Hokkaido in just three days.
When it comes to camera accessories like this, I think delivery speed is extremely important.
I really appreciate the level of service and speed, which was even better than Amazon and other services I’ve used.

I purchased a couple of sets of the SmallRig wireless mics. My first set worked well for six months. Sound quality was OK, but I really liked the battery life and convenient size. Unfortunately the mics lost there ability to charge reliably. I've noticed this with other brands, too.

I purchased the s70 on 8/1. The product was delivered so I charged the entire system. The light on the receiver was solid green so I proceeded to use the mic and within 1.5 hours of use the receiver started flashing fast green and turned off. I got home and charged it again and monitored the charging progress. It charged over night and again showed a solid green light after over night charging. I used it again and the receiver died within 45 minutes of use.
