Andrea Stolpe California Songwriting…

Andrea Stolpe California Songwriting Retreat July 2026 Absolutely Wonderful Experience !!! Incredible amount of essential information on how to enhance songwriting encompassing music, lyrics, production and creative teamwork. Fun interfacing with a great group of friendly people. Andrea's special in depth reviews of songs by attendees were enlightening and most helpful. Jan Stolpe provided a wealth of valuable information and clarity in regards to production. Daily, diversified small groups were assigned to create new songs in an afternoon, performing live each evening. Erin Workman visited with lots of essential solid information regarding publishing, A & R,vocals, artist development, education and performing. Daily hikes, Yoga, meals, wonderful weather, fine accommodations, and late evening jams kept everyone busy. Honestly, at the week's end I was tired from long days, After driving home, I briefly reflected, wishing the Retreat was still going. I wanting to immediately return for another week. I really enjoyed meeting so many talented people who inspired and taught me. Bless you all. May our paths cross again. Get Musically Charged, Invigorated and Energized. Attend an Andrea Stolpe Retreat !!! HIGHEST RECOMMENDATIONS !!! Enthusiastically Submitted, Steve Garvey

Andrea is an exceptional teacher

Andrea is an exceptional teacher, and I truly feel honored to have been in the room learning from her. Her knowledge, generosity, and ability to guide the creative process are remarkable. My only suggestion would be regarding the balance between collaborative writing and individual songwriting. I came to the retreat expecting to spend more time developing my own songs. While the collaborative writing exercises were valuable and taught me a great deal, I felt that one or two days of group writing might have been enough, leaving more time for participants to receive guidance on their own material. I realize this is a challenge with a group of 30 people, and I’m not sure what the best solution would be. One idea might be to have a daily lottery where a few participants are randomly selected to come to the front of the room and spend 20–30 minutes workshopping one of their own songs with Andrea. Even those not selected would likely learn a great deal by watching the process. Thank you so much for the entire experience. It was inspiring, educational, and deeply worthwhile. I would absolutely attend another retreat, especially if there were an opportunity for more work on participants’ own songs. Jo-Ann 🎼♥️

Bump your songwriting to the next level

Andrea and her team managed to pull together folks from all over North America (oh yeah, there was a Brit there too) who seemed to have only songwriting in common. Andrea's instruction, exercises, and collaboration opportunities raised each of our abilities to another level. By week's end I realized Andrea Stolpe and her team selected deep, sensitive souls whose egos were in check and who were open enough to experience the gifts we'd be given that week. The location was inspiring and reflective, and the cuisine exceptional. The experience was beyond my wildest dreams and I can't wait to head to her next retreat! Thank you Andrea and Madison!

Andrea's retreat was a gamechanger and…

Andrea's retreat was a gamechanger and definitely pushed me to elevate my craft. My mind was opened so much by just relaxing and letting the songs flow into consciousness. Andrea's method is so inviting and gives space for the vibes, the music, the lyric to be held. I would recommend her retreats to anyone wanting to hone their songwriting and interpersonal skills.

10/10 experience you won't regret, life changing!

I truly didn't know what to expect going into the songwriting retreat in Nashville last week, but it was one of the best experiences I've ever had creatively. I have never felt more easily connected to a group of people before, or felt more creatively safe and at home. Andrea is an incredible, intuitive and kind teacher with so much wisdom to share! What she and her team put together was truly an unforgettable, life changing experience that helped me get out of my head and ready to create my art. Plus I left with lifelong friends and collaborators. Win win if you ask me!

Immersive Songwriter’s Retreat

Andrea is a very engaging speaker - her communication and presentation skills are impeccable. Very knowledgeable in her field and focused on what she is presenting, yet welcoming and encouraging of discussion and questions. This was a ‘hands on’ retreat where we received instruction and then were given the task of implementing the tips and tools presented to us. The lodging was very conducive to promoting an intimate group dynamic as well as providing a beautiful backdrop for creativity to bloom.

This was an awesome songwriter's retreat! I loved that it lasted Monday-Friday. Andrea's retreat book was very informative and I enjoyed the scheduling of all the activities. I appreciate her rooming me with people closer to my age so we really bonded. I enjoyed the co-writes, campfires, showcases each night, and all the meals prepared by the amazing chef on sight.

Top songwriting instruction

By now, the entire world knows Andrea Stolpe is one of the most respected songwriting instructors in the entire music industry. Just watch a few of her free YouTube videos to get a tiny flavor of her expertise. Not to mention more in-depth online and face to face classroom instruction. So I say nothing new here. Just grateful I’ve learned so much from her professional experience.

Connection

Connection - connection- connection. Andrea and her team are great at connecting songwriters from around the globe. Pulling together wonderful creators and matching them up for unique and exciting co-writes. I attended the UK retreat at Eaton Manor, and it was an incredible facility with beautiful grounds and lovely hosts. I felt very inspired by the setting and the journey to make it all happen. Andrea, somehow, found a way to not step on another songwriters creative spirit- we are a rare bunch of characters. The tools we learned are a tremendous asset to help get unstuck. I could also tell, that the team had spent a lot of time and effort with the accommodations and matching roommates up and I am 50+ years young, and I had the most perfect roommate for me. Thank you to Madison for being so welcoming and inclusive I also loved Lumia’s harmony exercises. That’s a keeper for me! I left with 20 new friends and some great new collaborators, and the 3 new songs, that didn’t exist when I got there. Times that by 20 people - 60 new songs were born in one week. Pretty amazing.

Recommended to songwriters who want to improve their craft

I've just completed the 30 Day Songwriter course. I found it very useful, with manageable daily exercises to help embed the knowledge covered in each video. It was great to be able to post your work with others in the community and both give and receive feedback. If you struggle getting to grips with the many different aspects involved in writing a well rounded song, this course will definitely get you on the right track :)

30-Day Songwriter: Just Do It!

30-Day Songwriter: Nov. 2025 Class If you have a box full of old, unfinished songs or beginning to write new ones, eventually inspiration will run out. TIME to LEVEL up and learn the craft of songwriting by one of the top songwriters in the business, Andrea Stolpe. No such thing as "not ready yet" or "not the right time". The right time is now. She's got a bag full of songwriting tools and doesn't hesitate to simply share them; no long-winded lectures, no "shrouded" in secret language. The lecture videos/audios are all 1080p with closed caption and "search video" and every lecture has a PDF. The CC with "search video" option is how I was able to go to class during work by turning down the volume and typing out every word from the "search video" option and I would read my notes throughout the day. For me, one of the biggest reasons why this course is very effective has to do with the posting of daily assignments along with the other classmates posting theirs, and so it gave one a chance to read, listen and sometimes interact with each other. The best part was one felt safe because it was, at best, very encouraging, especially if a classmate(s), who have amazing skills, left an encouraging comment on one's post. At worst, there was no comment left and after awhile, having no comments, it started to feel "non-judgmental" and safe to post one's assignment. I'm a novice lyricist and "off key" singer and I felt no judging and safe when I posted my lyrics and links to the current song I was working on. If I could change one thing on my part, is that I would've liked to have done at least 3 months of Descriptive/Destination/Objective/Sensory writing before diving in the 30-Day Songwriter. But back in early November 2025, the time was "NOW" and I just went for it, and I am very happy that I did. My biggest takeaway, was Andrea giving you these songwriting tools/muscles and emphasizing to turn off your inner critic (the one that wants you to fail/quit) and trust your intuition/instincts. Your instincts are the "directions" and the tools are the "boat" to get you to the finish line.
