Most rubber walking stick tips that are big enough to fit the diameter of a wooden walking stick tend to have a tapered shape, flaring out at the bottom and that flare has a tendency to get caught on things when you're hiking, the Brazos has a nice rounded shape that works perfectly. Only been on two hikes with the new tip and it's holding up nicely.
My hawthorn walking stick has exceeded expectation. Very sturdy, and because I hike difficult terrain, I never worry about it collapsing or bending like the adjustable aluminum sticks. A perfect hiking companion. Also, a great “critter pole” when I need to guide a grumpy trail inhabitant to a safe location (aka rattlesnakes) 😊. Hiking many miles every year tends to wearout the rubber tips. I never have a problem getting the replacements I need to stay on the trail.
