Calmerry is not a good source for therapy
I signed up and explained my situation in detail. I was matched with a "counselor" that did not meet my needs and the counselor recommended I switch to another counselor. Calmerry then matched me with a substance abuse counselor. I do not, nor have I ever had a substance abuse issue and this is not even close to what I needed help with. When I explained that I didn't feel this was a good match they said maybe I should try this person out and if it didn't work out - I could switch again. I explained that I didn't feel this was a good plan as I didn't want to start and open myself up to a counselor that I knew wasn't a good fit from the start and then do it all over again. Calmerry personnel do not seem to understand therapy at all. I would not recommend this company

Hello, KC. Thanks for your feedback. Please note that counselors have different licensures, however, it does not mean that a counselor with an Addiction license cannot help with anxiety, for example. This is why we offer to try to start a conversation with a counselor. We always try to match the client with the best possible available counselor, based on the types of issues you mention on your intake. With our offer to switch a counselor anytime, you can test out a few counselors before settling with the most suitable one.

Great Customer Service, Poor Therapy
On the plus side, Calmerry had great customer service. They are quick to reply (I never waited more than two minutes to talk to a rep in chat), and they quickly changed my therapist next day when I had a problem with my first one. That being said, I was initially matched with a counselor who specialized in men's issues and relationships--I am a woman who was seeking individual counseling. This counselor said she would check in twice a day (which was more than I expected), but she counted messages like, "What are your hobbies?" as a check in. I mentioned that I had resorted to old habits of using food to relieve stress and anxiety, which I wanted to fix, and she responded, "It sounds like you have developed some healthy ways of relieving stress," which led me to believe she was only skimming my messages. What made me switch off this counselor, however, was that she finally sent me a message of substance with a strategy, explanation, and then questions at the end, but I googled the strategy to get examples, and I found her exact message (questions included) on a website. She had copied and pasted the whole thing and passed it off as her own. Calmerry quickly switched me off of her (though I don't believe we were ever a "match" in the first place), but they excused the plagiarism, stating that they were sure she just wanted the strategy to be as clear as possible. For me, this hurt their credibility. I was paying quite a bit of money for someone to pass off an article I could have found myself on Google, rather than actually engage with me. My second counselor was better about actually reading what I wrote and responding, but I found it difficult to communicate clearly my issues and needs with her when we couldn't have a dialogue. It often felt like we weren't fully understanding each other. For example, I mentioned anxiety as a problem, and she gave me a strategy of blocking the thought that creates the anxiety and replacing it with a new one. Great in theory, but if I could just block the thought, I wouldn't need counseling. When I explained that I didn't know how to do this, she gave me an example of an anxious thought and example of the replacement thought, but never gave me any tools or steps to be able to get to that skill. All in all, I just don't think this kind of therapy is for me

Hello, Courtney. Thanks for sharing your honest feedback. We truly appreciate it. We were glad that the issue was resolved, however, we are deeply sorry that it occurred in the first place. We take all comments into serious consideration and surely this kind of behavior from the counselor's side will be negotiated. We will make sure these actions never happen again. Keep in mind that you can ask for a new counselor even if you are not quite fully satisfied with the second one. We want to get the best possible connection with your provider, so feel free to contact our Support Team whenever you have any questions. Our team works 24/7 for you.

I signed up for a trial
I signed up for a trial, to make sure It works for me.
The mental health assistant who was doing the intake was great.
The second I put in my credit card info and got matched things went sideways.
First therapist straight up ignored me. I asked to switch, and when i did, I got assigned a therapist with 9 hours difference to my time zone, so when i sleep, she works. The customer service just said meh, try it. (i shouldn't have to do this work for a company who sells mental health services. It should be understood that you need at least a few hours of overlap.)

Hello Evgenia. We are saddened to see your review. We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience. We would like to set the record straight that we never said "meh, try it", instead we searched for a therapist, who is located close to you, and managed to find such a therapist, who is in the same time zone as you are.
Also, just to clarify, as we are a US-based company all our counselors are located in the United States, so if you reside in Europe the time difference is something you need to be aware of.

I'm a mom of 3
I'm a mom of 3. My low self-esteem kept my personality silent. Burnout and constant stress almost ruined me inside. I had no time for self-care and maintaining good mental well-being until I started online therapy on Calmerry. With the support of my therapist, I feel much better. I can do anything. I'm strong. I'm powerful!
Thanks!

I don't know where the good reviews are…
I don't know where the good reviews are coming from because I did not have a good experience. My first therapist felt like I was a mere annoyance and would send a reply or two that consisted of it being a sentence. The second therapist was full on with questions but would only recite exactly what I replied with. After the initial day they didn't reply or even bothered to. It wasn't their day off. They just didn't reply. I told customer service this their response was "we can switch your therapist again and give you two free days but you'll have to pay again after that." I'm starting to think that the therapist assigned to weekly plan clients are given the short end of the stick. Meanwhile the ones who pay for a full month get more attention and better therapist. Seems fair right? If your only concern is business and making money. I wouldn't recommend especially if you're suicidal or have deeper issues than being stuck at home during a pandemic.

Friendly prices for my budget
Why do I put them 5 points?
- EXTREMELY appealing site (imho as a graphic designerJ)
- friendly prices for my budget (cheaper than can be offered by other platforms)
- cool customer support (I value their night-time attention)
- Effective treatment (I managed to stop comparing myself with others and improved my self-esteem. That was the issue I’ve been seeking help with)
- What’s not to love?))
P.S.: hello to Sophie – the best therapist in the world!)))

Poor counsellor experience. Good customer service.
I received a total of 6 messages from my counsellor over the course of the week subscription, they were very unresponsive and put in little effort to the conversation. However, the customer service was quick to respond and they did offer me a refund.

Now I feel more confident
I found my entire experience with online therapy very beneficial. Online conversations I had with my therapist helped me make noticeable changes in my attitude to problems and behavior. Now I feel more confident in managing the stresses of day-to-day lif

looking for a telemedicine
Due to the Covid-19 situation, I've been looking for a telemedicine service that can temporarily be a good option instead of visiting my private counselor each Friday. I wasn't happy with his pricing as well, since I work in the restaurant industry, so my earnings dropped significantly. A friend of mine has recommended Calmerry because their maximal monthly package is twice cheaper than visiting my therapist. So, in the beginning, I needed about a week to understand how it works, but then we concentrated on therapy. I like that I had an option to get a black female therapist, and they matched me with a wonderful specialist, a professional, whose tips are very helpful to me.

Best care about life
I'm happy with Calmerry.I love Calmerry since not only do they help me financially by cutting down costs, they also provide genuine therapy. My therapist has been one of the top encouragers I've had since counseling with her. Last 5 years wouldn't have been the same without her knowledge, honesty, assistance and care about my life.
