Any review that's over one star is…
Any review that's over one star is definitely reviewed by someone that gains something from partnering with this scam of a company. They sell your information when you sign up for their website and EVEN if you click "do not sell my information", they'll do it anyway. Now I am constantly receiving emails from other scammers and I always ask them how they came across my resume and none of them ever answer until today someone did... and she told me it was from career builder. Funny how that happened because I asked for both my data not to be sold as well as asked for my account to be deleted. Despite the account being deleted, it's very obvious my information was sold. There's no point in even blocking these email addresses because they're coming from all different "companies". Disgusting.

Is being a package mule your dream job? Career Builder is the right place! Mr. Jim Fudrucker from Somalia will send you an invite to his whatsapp!
I made the mistake of thinking Career Builder was a credible site. It may have been at one time, but it certainly isn't now. The moment I signed up for an account, I began receiving an absorbed amount of spam emails with links to bogus job offers. This is a scam. The worst part was being suddenly inundated with nuisance text messages telling me I had won thousands of dollars in court cases, companies sending me big gift cards and so many other crazy things. It is no coincidence that this instantly began happening as soon as I signed up on this site. They allow anyone and everyone to post jobs that are absolute scams, but appear under the guise of a legit company. If you want to be a package mule, Career Builder is the place for you. No legitimate company will ask you to contact them through whatsapp, discord or google hangouts. This is a move by these overseas scammers and this is their method of communicating with you long distance. I have had my cell phone number for 25 years, but am leaning towards having to completely change my number. I'm so creeped out that so much of my personal information was made accessible to these trashy people. To make matters worse, I discovered Career Builder was taking it upon themselves to apply for jobs FOR ME!!! I discovered this when I was contacted by an Auto Parts company for a cashier job!! I was formerly a regional manager for a cosmetic company! What??!! I could go on about this horrendous site. I have gone through the steps to delete, but am STILL getting all kinds of crap via email and text. This is HORRIBLE!!! Where is the ZERO STARS option???

Total Scam
Do not provide information on CareerBuilder. Regardless of your profile you will get slammed with bogus and irrelevant opportunities that are mostly spam.
Just received a bunch more today telling me that my experience as a CEO would be a great fit for a bank teller opportunity. One of MANY similar suggestions.
It's worthless and risky.

Spam calls and text messages that never stop. The “recruiters” pretty much harass you into trying to reveal personal data and it is very uncomfortable. Most of the companies are not even real.

They Sell Your Data to Spammers!
I get daily emails from scammers referencing my (now deleted for a year and a half) CareerBuilder account. CareerBuilder does not appropriately safeguard data you provide them and has refused to do anything after the fact. Their TSST team is worse than useless.

Impersonating me in the Marketplace
I receive a lot of recruiter emails that are basically spam. However, once in a while I ask them where they got my information, because I don’t have my info available anywhere right now.
Well, today I got one of those emails and just happened to ask where they got my information. The recruiter responded and said they got my information from CareerBuilder.com. This sounded odd to me because I didn't recall ever using that website, but I knew it was a big name brand. I double checked all my records and emails, and sure enough, I had never used CareerBuilder.com and did not have a username or password.
Since they are a big-name brand, I decided to navigate to their website and try the password reset function and sure enough, it worked. Alarmingly, there it was, plain as day, a CareerBuilder account with all of my employment history and a lot of personal details. Clearly, all the information had been scraped from other sources because there were a lot of errors and gaps in the data. Let me be clear, I did not create this account and the data was clearly scraped.
This is particularly alarming because not only was CareerBuilder unethically creating an account on my behalf, scraping my employment history, and selling my data to third parties, but they were also misrepresenting me in the marketplace. They took it upon themselves to take this disheveled amalgamation of scraped data, call it a "resume", and share it with potential employers and recruiters.
What CareerBuilder did is clearly fraud. They created an account without my consent and effectively impersonated me in the marketplace. This was scary and appalling.
I have reported this to the FTC and the CCPA. If they did this to you, or something similar, also report it to the FTC or CCPA. If this isn’t illegal, it should be.

The are either selling information or…
The are either selling information or they are not checking that job listing are legit, most of the jobs listed are scams. I just joined Sunday and have gotten no fewer than 20 calls, emails and texts. Most for jobs offering 20+/hr and you interviewed and then are hired right after. I contacted the company to speak about hiring and they inform me if I didn't use their site they wouldn't trust it. They should have a responsibility to protect job seekers, and they clearly do not care. Save yourself the trouble and just don't look for jobs on here unless you absolutely have to. I wish i would've known, I would've never used this site.

This site known as “ Career Builder” is a NOT the Opportunity in which you are looking to seek employment.
They are NON TRANSPARENT with their information about “ Specific Employment “ in which you have an interest.
I suggest, bypass this site and go directly to the Area, Place or Company in which you are seeking Employment.
They will access your computer by their “ cookies” and take all of your Information, just as “ Facebook “ did on its earlier beginning’s!
Do NOT fool yourself. For, once you have given them your name and email address; they immediately respond to sending you a “ chat message “.
“ Chat message ended ; WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION.. BEWARE of
“CAREER BUILDER “ ~ they are NOT LEGITIMATE !! Go to the ACTUAL SITE of WHERE YOU WOULD APPLY FOR EMPLOYMENT, ….. PLEASE 🌟

I did 2 30 minute zoom meetings and emailed them saying we would not be moving forward with account. Little did I know 6 months later I receive a bill for 9k. Now I’m collections. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. They ignore the little man.

SCAM ALERT: Issues with Careerbuilder
Careerbuilder was once a decent place to find a job, but no longer is that true. After posting my resume I received dozens of fraudulent job opportunities that were clearly phishing scams, identity theft and malware. Using all the applicant information culled from Careerbuilder, cyber thieves posted links and phony company information requesting that applicants desiring interviews needed to open Whatsapp and Discord messenger apps. The emails and texts were nonstop and not one genuine job opportunity was ever revealed. The cyber thieves used well known corporate names to ensnare job hunters. I also received nuisance text messages. Careerbuilder is not secure and there is no support to avoid or correct these problems.

Careerbuilder.com engages in deceptive…
Careerbuilder.com engages in deceptive business practices to inflate the number of users that appeared to use their site.
For well over 2 years, my resume on careerbuilder.com was saved as "not visible to recruiters". I have gotten 50 to 100 recruiter and fake job emails and calls a day during that time. I have blocked many calls and sent many emails to my spam folders.
I kept logging in to careerbuilder.com to check; however my resume was set to "private" and not visible to recruiters. I thought it couldn't be the reason
Finally, I started emailing recruiters back, asking how they got my resume and contact information. Only a few responded, several of them told me careerbuilder.com. (others told me dice.com which was also set to private).
One recruiter who'd found my private info on careerbuilder.com added that he could see my resume from 2019 (which was set to private, of course) AND that I last logged in 19 days ago.
I was chilled, frightened and disturbed. Immediately I logged into careerbuilder and deleted my entire profile. (I also did this with Dice.com)
That was well over two weeks ago and I am still getting emails and calls - I have continued asking all these people how they saw my resume. Recruiters are still contacting me and telling me they found my resume there... this has been a nightmare, a burden, and an invasion of privacy.

Do NOT sign up with CareerBuilder!
I too deleted my account with them a few years ago as I became disabled and moved out of state, yet I still received “job opportunities” from “employers” constantly that say they’ve gotten my resume from CareerBuilder, which hasn’t been updated since 2017. Furthermore, there is no way to contact CareerBuilder to fix this, so I’m still getting annoying emails, but had to change my cell phone number so the calls and texts (I would get these texts that listed my name and address from random numbers, which was very creepy) would stop.

Scammer site - do not use CareerBuilder
CareerBuilder is continuing to put my resume and information out to employers after I have repeatedly asked them to delete my account and stop notifying employers that I am looking for a job. I have confirmation that I requested and went through their steps to delete my account, profile, and any information on me in April. Even worse, I am still getting fraudulent calls and fake employers attempting to contact me everyday. A real company reached out to me this morning (8/26) and said they got my number and resume from CareerBuilder (so I know its still CareerBuilder). Further, CareerBuilder opened several accounts with my information with several other job hunting companies. I have cancelled with no less than 3 other job hunting companies (who knows how many companies have my information now).
CareerBuilders does not protect their customer's privacy, or honor customer's wishes, and they never fix their mistakes. They should be shut down!

I signed up on CareerBuilder and had to the cancel!!!
I signed up on CareerBuilder less than a couple of weeks ago, and immediately starting receiving emails from people I cannot pronounce and the one's that I talked to either I can't understand their English or have a hard to understanding them. No way would I allow one of these guys to be a recruiter for me. Bottom line, I eliminated my account in a matter of hours, but continuously getting a number of these so call recruiters contacting me everyday. Some with vagued job descriptions. These supposedly recruiters that are contacting me are the type of recruiter that I do not trust!!!
I don't know what happen in those first few hours signing up with CarreerBuilder, but I wish I never had!!!

BEWARE
Whatever you do, stay far away from this website. Do not give them any personal information.
Nothing but scam job offers and phishing emails. You’ll have to change your email address because they come from different sources, so blocking doesn’t help. Even if you request that CareerBuilder does not share your data, your info is already floating around out there.

Links to Scams not Jobs
Every "job opportunity" is just a link to a website that wants your info for "paid" surveys or will want you to sign up for multiple 3rd party websites before even allowing you to look at the companies website.
If you ever make it to the website, it is always clearly not an official website and will have an extremely cheap video explaining why you should give them money to sign you up for ANOTHER list that MAY have job opporunities.
Then the cycle repeats. This website is for scammers, nothing else. Any credibility it had they gave up, if there ever was any.
