I dealt with a different person each…

I dealt with a different person each time I called and I got 3 different stories and each time I called each person raised my price. 1. Coastal:,Andy G: $9,200 2. Coastal: Ben, $12,282 3. Loadrans: Eric, $14,054 Coastal subcontractrd to Loadrans who subcontracted to Battery M & S for the pickup and Loadrans then subcontracted to Stanford M&S for delivery. Pickup was with 2 guys who didn't speak any English which hampered our communication with them and the move. They didn't log or inventory any item while loading but wanted their money that day. They texted,$3,497 but the contract that was emailed shortly after that, while the guys were still loading, said,$3,947...an increase of $450, both for pickup and delivery...a total increase of $900. Eric was the foreman and he was supposed to be on site at my house but wasn't...he was in his Denveroffice, but did everything over the phone with his 2 Non-English speaking guys. They were supposed to deliver our items in 2 days but it took 10 days after constant emails and calls. Their inventory was short 80 boxes and about 12 large items. After 1 month, they have still not recovered any of our items and no longer contact me, though they really didn't contact me before anyway. I had to always contact them and the employees with whom I spoke were completely clueless regarding my lost items. The delivery driver left 2 items that belong to someone else and would not take them back. Coastal and Loadrans have been informed of these items but have not made any attempt to retrieve and deliver them to the rightful owners. My advice...STAY CLEAR OF COASTAL AND DON'T DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM! You will regret it. Very negative experience! My rating for Coastal and Loadrans is a NEGATIVE 100!

Seriously disappointed in constant upselling

Not even going to lie this was a bummer. At first we thought they would be sending movers not outsourcing them. So once we found out it was outsourced that was a bit surprising. Found out the day they showed up at our house by the way. They gave me an estimate from the conversation on the phone. Turns out there estimate was so wrong that the guys who got here were surprised. Said they needed a minute to talk with their boss and boom. Bait and Switch started. The update was so significant due to the over the phone quote, that it was just time to turn them away. No move that's outsourced should be over 15k like they wanted. No move in my own opinion should be over 12. Just my thoughts. Anyhow no refund on deposit since that's the way they work with same day turn aways. So not only did I pay the original contract fee deposit, the updated contract fee deposit totalling around 4k I'm also out that and now have to figure out how to get my place all the way to another section of the US. While, being in the whole. Plus this was a company I went with due to other veterans recommendations.

I want to warn anyone considering Coastal Moving Services.

I want to warn anyone considering Coastal Moving Services for a long-distance move. I originally reserved a moving pod because I did NOT want my belongings loaded, unloaded, and transferred between trucks — that's when things get damaged. Before switching to Coastal, I asked their salesman, Daniel Thomson, one question twice: would my stuff be taken off one truck and put onto another? Both times he told me no. He said my belongings would go on the truck, be driven to Austin, and delivered right away. That single assurance is the only reason I hired them over the pod. Almost none of it was true. On pickup day, movers showed up hours late, rushed me through paperwork after 8 PM, and told me the price had doubled. I had already put down a large deposit I was told was nonrefundable — so backing out meant losing thousands. I felt trapped and signed. My belongings were then transferred off the original truck, exactly what I was promised wouldn't happen, and as of now they are sitting in storage. That's not my guess — the storage company itself confirmed it. When I complained, Coastal ignored the actual issue — the false promise about the trucks — and kept hiding behind an inventory dispute. I repeatedly asked them to review the recordings of my sales calls, which would prove what I was told. They claimed to have "retained all records" but never produced them. My BBB complaint was closed without a resolution and without any refund. If you use this company, get every promise in writing, and understand that what the salesman says on the phone may not be what happens. I wish someone had warned me.

Classic Bait & Switch

As many others have said, this is a shady business for sure. They will quote you very low, because they know it does not matter. They'll get you to sign, then schedule the "quality assurance" call a few days before pickup. IIt ends up being another company that actually does the move. That's when they start doubling the cost of the move with fees and other BS charges. They schedule that call late so it's too late to cancel or you lose your deposit. BE WARNED. Check your move inventory very carefully. That is how they get you. You will tell them what you are moving, then they leave off or manipulate the quantities or change the box sizes so it's cheaper on the quote. Then when they do the call or pickup, you realize they did not quote it correctly and you'll pay much much more. I feel like a sucker.

Moving is stressful, steer clear of this company so you don't add more!

This company is a broker, they find you a moving company. What they quote you is low and gets you to sign. Then the moving company shows up and doubles the bid. Communication horrible, my belongings arrived over a week later, I had no idea when they were being delivered. Many boxes missing, MANY things broken but if you saw how my things were handled by the warehouse folks who loaded or unloaded my stuff you would know why. Such an unfortunate experience, three guys packed me up and ONE person unloaded my furniture and boxes at the new destination. Not worth filing a claim, I can't prove anything on my end other than what didn't arrive.

Spent over $10,000 to move from NewMexico to South Carolina

Spent over $10,000 to move from New Mexico to South Carolina. Although the lost and damaged items totaled a little over $1,000 due to not purchasing additional insurance, I was only able to claim $300.00. It has been over 6-months trying to collect the $300.00 from Loadtrans who was contracted by Coastal and I am still trying to collecrt. They do not answer their phone and they do not return phone calls. Horrible experience. Steven Hulse06

If I could give no stars I would

If I could give no stars, I would. This is the worst moving company ever. Do not use this moving company. They are liars, give you one estimate over the phone and when the movers come to move your things, you will be paying two thousand extra or more. Not reliable, after booking they do not follow up, you will be chasing them down for your belongings. My moving specialist was Cody Russo, stay far away, he is not helpful at all. This company is a scam, the service, the people, the delivery system. You won’t get your things in a timely manner, it’s 3 weeks in and I still have not received my belongings. They are not a moving company, they are the middle man, they source out to other moving companies and do not communicate, just know it’s not a one stop shop. They don’t do any work, they sourced my move out to Across states relocations, and believe me when I say it only got worse. They picked up my things on the 26th of May, and wouldn’t give me an update of delivery, then finally on 2nd of June, after multiple ignored calls, they called to tell me the truck broke down after pickup and won’t get fixed until the weekend of the 13th of June. Explain to me how that makes sense, more than two weeks to repair a truck. Finally delivered my things today, 17th of June. Shattered mirrors, boxes that looks beaten in. Never again. The lies being told is ridiculous. Just terrible service and company. Stay far away from Coastal moving company. Any good reviews is coming from their employees.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ANY COST

Horrible company. - Charged me an extra two thousand dollars on top of the thousands I'd already paid them after they were already at my house loading up my things. There was nothing I could do but agree as I had to be out of the house that same day - Promised delivery later that day or the next day--nothing was ever delivered. I've been calling all week and they "have no update to provide". They can't say where my things are or when they might be delivered - They were rough with my belongings and shattered multiple items just getting things into the truck. Left broken glass strewn across the street One of the worst companies I've ever worked with

Harassing Dishonest Middlemen Movers will milk you for your money at every step

Read Very Carefully Before Hiring Coastal movers. They are the middleman movers from Hell. Read below to know how they entrap you. This company's business license should be revoked! Lie #1 : Michael Preston the smooth talker liar will con you into accepting their service. They are the middle man , they are not the actual movers. Once they take your money, they will not help you with anything. Lie#2: DO NOT PAY the booking fee in advance. On the day of the moving the third-party movers will come and say, you will have to pay 40% extra because the volume is not documented right. If you don't pay the adjustment they will simply leave with your booking fee without any service. For me it was $2200. so I was stuck with them. Solution : Book with Mayflower , who do not need any advance booking fee and you can refuse their service if you disagree with them Lie #2 : They will say they are insured, but that is a lie. they will force you to sign the waiver of insurance on the day of the moving where they will pay only 70 cents on the weight and not the actual value of your goods. DO NOT SIGN their insurance waiver. Solution: Book with legit movers like Mayflower, who does not have booking down payment and you can decide to not take their service if they are dishonest Lie #3: they will promise the same truck will reach your destination. Liars. your furniture would change hands numerous times before it reaches you and in pieces, with no recourse of compensation. #4: the delivery truck broke down twice and the delivery date was changed three times ! the furniture delivered all broken and greasy dirty ! Lie #5: Even though I had 4 lane road Infront of my multistory apartment building, they threatened to deliver my furniture via smaller delivery truck claiming the 53-footer semi is not allowed on that road, even though there were tone of other 53-footer semis doing delivery to my building. they said they will charge $750 extra for the last mile delivery. #6: Only the driver showed up for delivery, A single person to deliver my two-bedroom apartment furniture. there was no help. I had to help the driver in equal labor for 4 hrs on the third day of rescheduled delivery. If you are moving long distance: do not use movers, buy everything a new at your new location. YOU WILL SAVE money and your sanity. For Coastal Movers will cheat you at every step. If you do want to transfer your furniture, then use reputable movers like Mayflower. NEVER USE MIDDLEMEN like coastal movers. and Michael Preston if you are reading this, Know that you have nothing but ill will, that your business may go bankrupt for the dishonest evil service that you provide, that your lying ladies answering the phones receive the same ill will and that your health & their health reflects the same as the service you provide. Amin.

I am very very disappointed. Don’t use them.

I am very, very beyond disappointed with this company. It is simply a broker and not actual movers. All they care about is signing a contract and taking your money. We were quoted a specific price for specific things and we were charged almost double. We were told that our items will get to us within a few days after we left. We are now been in our destination for over a week and it is saying that they may not even be able to start driving in for another week. The people who verbally quoted us on recorded lines by the way, gave us a very different story than the actual reality. I have medication on that truck that I would not have put there. Had I known that it wouldn’t even be this company doing the moving. I’ve moved in the past and they drive away at the same time I drive away. I was never told it would be a different company driving my stuff. I moved my daughter stuff up to where I live because my husband had a stroke and we need her help. The only way I could get it faster to pay for express shipping! I have told them that I need them to cover this cost, but they won’t even consider it. I was also told that it would be three days before I would even get a response from the dispatcher. Of course I wasn’t allowed to have the dispatchers number directly. I am just beyond upset and I would give them zero stars if I could. Don’t ever ever ever use this company. They misrepresented everything every step of the way.

Would not use them for moving as they are quick to take your money but not disclose to you everything that needs to be on the inventory list until its too late

Would not use them for moving as they take your money and then lie to you about the initial estimate. Never give a deposit until it has been verified your inventory. Took my money never used their services and they kept my deposit. Awful and misled me.

They came, they got, they left.

They came, they wrapped the piano up, and took it away... whether it went, not know I. I'm hoping it arrives, according to plan, as it was when it left.

Scam company, disgusted and disappointed

If I could give negative stars, I would. This “company” is a scam. I booked (and paid) them for thousands of dollars for a move, and they were unable to deliver it - quite literally at all. And that isn’t an exaggeration - ALL of my belongings are being held captive in another state, hundreds of miles away, with no promise to deliver them, rectify their mistake, or offer me a refund. Even after I, the customer, found and offered a solution for THEIR mistake. They were given ample information about anything needed to complete this job, and were unable to carry it out. Do not trust these people with your belongings or your money. The person that booked me, Patrick Rubin, made the company seem legitimate, but they are not. They scammed me out of thousands of dollars and never delivered my belongings needed to survive (couches, cooking supplies, clothes, my bed, etc.) The representatives I spoke with were rude, lacked emotion, and extremely incompetent. They also did not disclose that they contract another company to handle your belongings. I am baffled that they are allowed to keep operating. I have never had such a negative experience in my entire life. Stay far, far, FAR away.

The crew of Mike and Cat and Abdel and the crew did a great job today packing the house for transport to Florida. They worked hard and consistently, taking their time to ensure everything was packaged correctly and would not sustain any damage. The job was of first importance, despite the fact it was very hot. We would highly recommend their services!
