Writing feedback for Mr. Alvin Carter - he is an amazing college counselor. He is extremely hardworking and supportive of his students, and is extremely patient and understanding as well. Mr. Carter has been very helpful in helping me plan for college. He is extremely knowledgeable in helping students craft their portfolio with extracurriculars that stand out as well as helping them write impactful essays, verified by his experience in the industry. He uses his resources and knowledge effectively to make college and scholarship research extremely easy, bringing important and relevant information to his students. This has been very helpful in my journey to college, I didn't know how the college application process worked and advisors have been very helpful to explain the process and make it easier and less stressful.
My Tang
Collegeadvisor help me map everything out and validate my goals that I was on the fence about in the application season, and also helped me reconsider some ideas that were not beneficial to my application journey/application itself. My advisor, My Tang, helped me a ton with essays and pointed me in the write direction. I had over 14 drafts with completely different ideas across my supplementals and personal statements, but she was able to say no to some, say yes to some, and to edit a bunch. With her, I am able to say that I am happy about my essays, but without her I don't think I could say that. The most important thing that I would say is to stay on deadlines and do not slack off--this time is important for students and full attention, dedication, and grit is necessary. Every success comes with challenge.

As I reflect on my time during senior year and preparing towards submitting my college applications, I am truly grateful to have college board be a rock to support me through this process. During this period I had constant access to support, whether it was meetings with my advisor or help from the essay review team. As a perfectionist, the advice I got wasn’t merely surface level but addressed every aspect I had concerns with. I remeber during filling out my applications there was so many aspects I needed to address, and college advisor made the it easy the process x10 easier with the the structure and organization they provided me with as a student. My advisor, Chi Chan, had documents for extracurricular(detailing what to include), all my essays, and even scholarship opportunities. This process is definitely one that’s extremely hard and painstaking but with the support of college advisors it felt as if there was plan to reach the finish line. For students joining college advisors, my biggest piece of advice is to constantly stay in contact with your advisor and keep your self discipline to the schedule and deadlines you have for yourself during this time. College advisor truly is an amazing resource but it’s only useful if you hold your self accountable and it take advantage of what’s offered to you.

Having her input has been really interesting, and she is so supportive throughout everything. My current advisor is the best one I have had from this program so far. Darryl Tiggle is an enormous help regarding the stress from college applications. My previous advisor was not very active with what I was doing, and I didn't have an amazing experience. Overall, I have had a better experience thanks to Darryl.

bad timeing
We set up an appointment at an agreed time. When the time for the meeting came, they adjusted the time, and when the adjusted time came, they canceled. This was an initial meeting to learn what they do and the costs. If they cannot meet simple agreed times, how are they going to be efficient in providing services they are selling and actually have our best interests being served?
