I have taken to walking a few miles a night for the last year in effort to lose weight now I am heading into dreaded middle age. Mission successful as I went from 192 pounds to 160 which is perfect :D but to help with this in the winter evening I purchased a few LED torches. They were the build in battery types, usb port on the back, few quid each. Well over the year I have had them the ports have started to die so I wanted replacements but figured I would spend a bit more for something robust.
I saw people on reddit talking about these convoy torches and so I thought I would take a look and to my surprise not only did they have a nice range but they all use replaceable batteries and best of all... I could specify the type of LED I wanted to use. So I put in an order for two orange torches using a 519A LED on a 12 step buck regulator which is a fairly efficient set up and specified an 1800K colour temperature as frankly being a child of the 80's I have always had a love of that sodium street lamp orange.
What has turned up to me here in the UK is two of the most beautiful little torches I have ever known, that are perfect for walking with. They cast a warm 1800K amber glow upon everything and although obviously not flood lights, cast light more than far enough for useful walking distances. the screw threads on them are good and solid too. You do not have to buy 2 but for the cost of £25 for a pair I bought, it was a bargain for two well made customised torches.
Writing this as there aren't many reviews for these guys and that made me question whether or not to order from them. Bought a battery charger from them, item shipped from China and was at my door on the UK in 5 days, I've ordered from China quite a lot over the years and this was by far the fastest item I've had delivered from there. Didn't get a confirmation email or anything when I ordered which they could do better, however parcel tracking and everything else was great. Item I purchased was cheaper than on the manufacturers AliExpress store, arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. Overall very happy and would recommend. 🙂
Fantastic flashlights!!! such a low price point for very high performing lights has gotten me into this hobby. yes there is a flashlight hobby, kind of. there are so many different combinations and variations you can get by changing the emitter, colour temperature reflector, host size etc. and convoy light makes it so cheap that if you buy something you don't like, it doesn't matter, but that's rare anyways because Simon only sells powerful high quality lights and if you don't believe me check out the Facebook group! Full of unique builds for varying uses. I carry a light with me everyday and it is one of these for a good reason. simple yet powerful.
Incredibly good products, fast delivery and excellent support (I had a flashlight that would not charge, and they sent a new one within a week all the way to South Africa)
I purchased the Convoy M21B. This torch must be the best available for the money. The build quality & light output are simply unbelievable. If this were UK made, which I'd prefer, it'd cost at a minimum 5x the price. I can't speak on the longevity yet as I received my order 5 days ago.
If only more than 5 stars were available. The combination of quality, price and service is unequalled anywhere in my experience. Hard to understand how only 5 star reviews can give an overall rating under 4. Simon is brilliant!
