Scam and deceptive hidden subscription!I purchased a single vehicle report for $1 on July 19, 2026. On July 22, 2026, EpicVin charged my card $99.99 without my explicit consent, burying a monthly subscription in fine print. Their customer support refused to refund my money, offering only an unwanted credit. This is an absolute scam and dark patterns. I demand a full refund of $99.99 immediately!

This whole company is a bogus company running on scam. They will offer you $1 report and while checking out will ask you to check terms and condition box under which they add auto renew subscription for $100 which is hard to see as the font is too small and faded. Now imagine which subscription in the world is that expensive that for one month they charge $100. Also why any normal customer will need a subscription for checking vehicle history? It is a one off case we need it.

These guys are running a dark pattern scam. At checkout you pay $1 for a VIN lookup. That's a normal-looking small payment, the kind you make a dozen times a year without thinking about it. What actually happens is that the $1 signs you up for a $99.99/month membership (INSANE), which starts charging unless you cancel during the trial window. The terms are on the page, technically. They're also small, grey, and sitting next to a $1 in large type. I don't have a problem with subscriptions. I have a problem with this checkout. The $1 is what sells it, because it makes you think you bought a report. You bought a trial of a $100/month plan. I saw the charge and emailed support the same day. One VIN report opened. That's it. They denied the refund. I still don't understand how you look at that and decide the right answer is to keep the full hundred dollars, unless keeping it was the point. If the service is really worth $99.99 a month, sell it that way. The $1 is a one-time payment trojan horse for the mental $100/month subscription because they know that no one in their right mind is going to pay that. So why not offer a one time payment and make that the default option? Because the business is the scam. The subscription is the only thing you can buy, and the whole flow is built around people not reading the part that costs them money. Update: EpicVin did end issuing me a full refund of $99.99, so credit where it’s due. For anyone reading this please read the fine print so you know what you’re getting into

I have used this company in the past, but you need to be careful. I was charged £49.99 very recently and I know (for a fact) that i never triggered a free trial, and the worst thing is that I never got a notification that I was on a trial until they took my money! I would recommend not to use this company, when they have your bank details your at the mercy of them!! And no refund.
