Everyone at Fusion Academy was extremely welcoming and warm when my son transitioned mid-year. He did 1-1 tutoring and mentoring in his five academy subjects and each of his teachers took the time to know and understand him and help ensure he mastered the subject. It was a great option.

Amazing school with great administration. Principal, Ms. Sara, is amazing at identifying your child's needs and pairing them with great teachers and mapping out their success plan, taking classes that are needed.

Top notch for academic courses and collaboration with parents

We have had a wonderful experience with the instructors and staff at Fusion. If you are a parent of a student with learning differences, I can assure you the staff and teachers have been very responsive and collaborative with information and suggested approaches. My student loves their classes, and it is clear that the team works hard to create a clean, organized, and welcoming environment. Academically, this school has been the best fit for my student's needs, and we truly value the course content and the dedication of the teachers who provide such personalized support during his courses. This section of the review is regarding social opportunities for students who are not enrolled full-time or do not attend the paid Friday Enrichment sessions. Because we are financially unable to participate in these extra-cost options, cost-free social opportunities within the school setting and outside of the school setting are invaluable to us. We have found it difficult to navigate or locate information regarding ongoing or "pop-up" free events, and we’ve realized that social interaction is restricted for students who are not on a full-time track or able to pay to attend Fridays. We appreciate Fusion and its staff and have had a wonderful experience with every online and in-person meeting we've had. I understand that these programs have costs. I am hopeful that some opportunities can be fostered that balance Fusion's financial requirements with the students' need for social interaction. We would love to see accessible field trip opportunities and lower-cost options for students who cannot afford significantly increased tuition for social access. We value Fusion's academic excellence and choose Fusion because there isn't another time in our student's academic history where our student has thrived and wanted to show up. Our student is supported, engaged, and encouraged by each of his teachers. Thank you!!!!!!!

Incredible support from Fusion (Solana Beach)

The team at Fusion jumped in to help me and my son during a difficult transition period between schools. They spent time getting to know both of us and ensuring my son was set up for success; while also continuing to be challenged. I am so grateful for their partnership and recommend their school to all families seeking alternative education solutions for their children.

Extremely disappointing experience

Extremely disappointing experience. The entire pricing process felt more like a used car dealership negotiation than a professional engagement. We invested time visiting their campus to understand the experience and services they promote, after weeks of follow-up by them to us and assurances from their team regarding pricing. They announced we can’t honor the price we offered you. They even brought their finance representative onto a call to confirm the commitment. However, when it came time to sign, we were presented with a completely different price and told, “we made a mistake.” Wow! It was surprising and disappointing that a senior leader — someone with a PhD and in a position of authority — would make such a whopping pricing error and then refuse to honor their commitment. My advice to others: get every pricing detail in writing upfront and confirm final terms before investing time visiting their offices or taking one step further. Based on our experience, our family would not recommend them. And now we are behind the eight ball and need to enroll our family member in a different program which started a week ago and play catch-up on the learning. Thanks a lot! Hugely disappointed!

We did not know about Fusion until we…

We did not know about Fusion until we desperately needed a new school environment. My daughter was struggling socially at her previous school, so we ultimately made the decision to withdraw her. Fusion was able to pick up right where we left off, and their one on one learning environment completely exceeded our expectations. My daughter’s academic performance was the best it has ever been. While she did occasionally miss a more traditional campus environment, she genuinely enjoyed all of her teachers and thrived under the specialized attention she received. Another plus was the elective curriculum. They offer every imaginable option, everything from forensic psychology and marine biology to interior design. I would highly recommend Fusion Academy to any family, whether your child is an elite athlete needing flexibility, a student navigating social challenges, or someone who simply thrives in a one on one setting. I truly believe the education at Fusion is top tier and combine that with personalized attention, having no homework and no heavy books to bring home made it so much easier for our family to focus on quality time once we got home.

Our family was introduced to Fusion Academy through our school district because of its strong reputation and very high college acceptance rate. A friend of mine also highly recommended this school, and now I completely understand why. My daughter was struggling a little with emotional and mental health challenges that many teenagers experience. From the very beginning, the teachers and staff were incredibly supportive, patient, and caring. They truly took the time to understand her needs and helped her rebuild her confidence step by step. The personalized learning program was an excellent fit for her, which made studying much more effective and less stressful. Thanks to the school’s support, she completed high school with almost straight A grades and was accepted into three universities, including the one she had always dreamed of attending. What impressed me the most is that Fusion Academy not only focuses on academics, but also helps students develop important life skills, emotional stability, and self-confidence. The encouragement and emotional support my daughter received played a huge role in helping her stay focused on her goals and achieve the success she has today. We are truly grateful for everything the school and teachers have done for our family. Very highly recommended!

We received unethical & unprofessional treatment

We had an unpleasant experience here after what was initially a nice impression of the team and programs. We registered for a package and soon realized our son was. not a fit for the teacher. We reached out to the admins and were in the prcoess of working out an alternative. Long story short, we made a clerical error with the portal, and they counted that as us having "been absent" for 9 classes, even though the team knew quite clearly (both administrators and teacher) that we weren't attending. I understand that parent portals are our responsibility and ok , I will take the loss for a class or two, but I mean, a student doesn't show up for 9 classes, and after 1 or 2, they don't reach back out to the family? They just let the classes keep racking up unattended, because they'd been pre-paid. This is not ethical business practice and I felt intentionally taken advantage of. Not at all what I expected from a program like this that works with homeschoolers and self directed education communities. I reached out and expressed my discontent, and asked that we find a compromise and was met with a hard no. Note that I can count on one hand the number of times I've written a negative review about anything.

Love this school, and the staff & teachers are truly the best!

There are schools that claim they teach the whole child, meaning provide strong academic and meet the child where they are emotionally and socially. But let me tell you from firsthand experience, as a parent whose child has anxiety and some learning differences, no school actually delivers on that promise better than Fusion Academy Pasadena, Downtown. There are a lot of good schools out there, but only Fusion Academy Pasadena, Downtown has the structure, vision, the most beautiful and caring teachers you will ever find working hard for their students. There is no ego about teachers wanting to get through their curriculum as they want to teach it or as mandated by the school, but rather they focus on how to best teach the material for each student’s benefit and success. That is what our child experienced at Fusion Academy Pasadena -Downtown. But it also starts with great leadership, and Ruth Park is an exceptional head of school. She is kind, truly cares for the students, and will always make it her priority to make sure your student gets a solid academic education but also has a fun experience at school, offering social events for the entire community, volunteer opportunities for students, lots of fun field trips, and social-emotional workshops, etc. My child is graduating this year, and we have the staff and teachers at Fusion Academy Pasadena, Downtown to thank for it. We love you Fusion Academy Pasadena, Downtown, and will always credit you for helping our child achieve this milestone!

Fusion academy has been nothing but…

Fusion academy has been nothing but extraordinary for our son. During a very difficult time the whole team, the teachers were incredible and part of our son’s recovery. I will never thank them enough for their professionalism, kindness, generosity and humanity. If more children could go to school and be surrounded by adults and professionals of that quality, the world would be a better place ❤️❤️❤️

Misrepresented offering

We spent over an hour meeting with the school to discuss options for our 7th grader with an IEP. During both phone and in-person conversations, we were clear that we were specifically interested in small group classes due to cost, and we were led to believe this was a viable option. While we were encouraged to have our student complete a shadow day, we did not feel comfortable moving forward with that step before confirming whether the school was realistically an option for our family. Because of this, we requested to speak with the financial team first. In order to connect with the financial team, we were required to create a portal account and provide personal and payment information. Only after completing this process were we informed that small group classes are not offered (aside from limited PE) and are unlikely to be available- directly contradicting what had previously been communicated to us. We are now also experiencing difficulty getting support to delete our account and remove our personal information from the portal. Overall, this experience has added unnecessary stress during what is already a challenging process of finding the right support for a student who is struggling.

Fusion Academy was a great experience…

Fusion Academy was a great experience and a lifeline for our ninth grade daughter who was having difficulties transitioning to a new private HS. She was able to reset and focus on her academics in a safe structured environment. We were very pleased to receive the daily reports on how she was doing in each subject. She finished the year with all A's and we feel she is now ready to move back into the mainstream education process.

Wonderful school with wonderful teachers

As a parent of a neurodivergent, gifted teen, I can say that this school has changed my child's life. This is a school like no other. The care, the understanding, acceptance and high academic standards that the teachers and staff possess is unrivaled. This is a school that caters to each child/teen's academic needs. It offers a bespoke educational experience that has allowed my child to thrive in academic excellence whereas other schools have made his past experiences very difficult. If you have a child that may be a bit of a square peg that traditional educational institutions (both public and private) have tried to force into a round hole, then Fusion may be the solution for you as it has been for us.

Not for true academic purposes. It’s a business

Our Daughter Wanted to Learn. We Were Deeply Disappointed. I have an academically mainstreamed teenager. I made a huge mistake counting on Fusion to help my family - my teenager missed 3 months of her well respected school second to illness and withdrew for the semester and went to Fusion desperate to learn and catch up. We realized early on that Fusion was not a good fit - teaching quality was, at times, dismal with poor accountability of advancing curriculum/challenging my teenager. Our sincere efforts to engage the individual teachers, administrations were numerous from the begining - encompassing easily 40 emails. Despite raising concerns repeatedly with teachers and administrators, we felt our concerns were dismissed or not meaningfully addressed. Per my teenager AND while overhearing an online class, the teaching was maybe 15 minutes per 60 minute class and then teacher would make AI generated work for the student to do on own. You pay approximately $135/hr. I am so sorry to say this, but my teenager often felt some teachers were unable to answer questions in sufficient depth or explain the AI-generated assignments they provided. My teenager said it was a waste of her time --- the excruciating fact is that my teenager really wanted to catch up on missed school because of a long illness. She spent February to June, 2026, at Fusion & made little progress except for what she taught herself out of desperation (a huge positive - she learned to teach herself). The credits earned, we have decided, will not ever appear on her transcript; for us, it does not represrent quality education. Forget the 16-17k, the tremendous family stress related to Fusion not delivering; it was my teenager that was affected most and I cannot stop apologizing to her for choosing Fusion.

Fusions is a wonderful place for our daughter. She is learning and thriving in this program. The teachers keep us informed daily as to how she is doing. I can not say enough good things regarding this program.
