Sadly the abuse went on for decades. My child attended Interlochen in 2018 for a summer arts program. When checking him in I felt uneasy about all the young male counselors and camp manager at the boys camp. They seemed immature and a little suspect. Once you drop your child off you have no contact until the end of the program. A little scary for a parent. I let all the staff know while checking in that I have a summer home less that an hour away. I let them know I would be there in an instant if there were any issues with my son. They all seemed to be a little scared and put off. I’m glad I did. My son had a great experience. Knowing what went on for so long makes me feel sick to my stomach. This institution needs to be shaken to its core for letting children be harmed for so long.
