AIDA helped me fill my gaps

After using free resources and online trainings, I realized I still had too many skill gaps to be competitive for instructional design positions. Completing my AIDA journey enabled me to fill these gaps and transition from teaching to a full-time, W2 instructional design position. The best parts of AIDA are: -The program is constantly being improved based on feedback. Improvements have been for the benefit of all still enrolled, rather than just new enrollees. -I could go through the program at my own pace. -I felt fully prepared to apply (resume and portfolio) for, interview for, and begin working at instructional design positions. -The AIDA community and pod members.

Exceptional support and feedback

AIDA is an exceptional program that teaches you how to become an Instructional Designer. The feedback and support given in the program is priceless! I will caution those that are not good at time management or lack time to add something else to their schedule, that when they say you need to be able to devote a minimum of 10 hours each week, they mean it! As a teacher I planned on doing most of the program over the summer and having lots of time to get it all done. I did not! Remember that learning new skills and programs take time. Join when you are able to give them program the time it deserves!

Learning Strategy and Design's AIDA…

Learning Strategy and Design's AIDA certification is no joke! They (Jill, the proprietor, her staff of working IDs, and the designated success advisors) know what is important in the world of instructional design and they focus on helping to develop those skills. They truly want you do do well and view your success as a reflection of themselves. The course is rigorous, definitely not a breezy online program. They cram a lot into a short time, but provide avenues for constant support whenever you might need it. I would not hesitate to recommend this certification program to anyone serious about becoming an ID.

Successfully transitioned teacher

You get what you put into it. I decided to dedicate most of my free time to completing courses, watching videos, and networking. I finished the 9-month program in 6 months. Jill and her team helped to motivate me, taught me interviewing skills, and revamped my resume. All these are beyond the necessary skills to be an ID. I have successfully transitioned out of the classroom. I could not be more thankful for this program.

Rigorous, meaningful, supportive program!

This is a rigorous program that continues to improve its courses and offerings. Mentors/Coaches provide meaningful and helpful feedback on work. The community is filled with people who are eager to learn and to help one another along the way. It's rare to develop relationships with people all over the country without even meeting them, but the connection is real and the relationships are meaningful. Thanks for the learning, support, and opportunity to earn a credential that opens the door to a whole new career area.

Best decision I've made... Best learning experience I've ever had!

I can't say enough great things about this program. Let me start by telling you how skeptical I was about a program I found on Facebook. I NEVER follow a Facebook add but this one spoke to me. I took the first JumpStart class. Sat on the info for 3 months, did way too much research on AIDA and ID work, took the JumpStart class a 2nd time and signed up. Best decision I've made in over decade!!!! I've taught for 16 years and it was time for a change. I liked teaching but it was time for a pay increase and teaching break. ID was the perfect fit. AIDA prepared me more than I could have imagined. Not only is the course work spot on for everything they are looking for in the field, it is hands-on as well. Learn as you go with ALL the support you could ever ask for. The flexibility of self-paced is amazing, yet the unending amounts of resources and personal contact support that is at your fingertips in completely untouchable in any other schooling I've ever taken. Beyond the support, you have a POD of classmates that become your family. You will feel in a judgement free zone for your schedule and life moments if you are unable to move at the same pace as others. Beyond the resources, the way the program is set up with experts viewing your work and giving feedback is amazing. There is more to AIDA than than building a portolio. You are also building your professionalism in the field. The job readiness at the end of the program structure is equally if not even more valuable than the portfolio creation. AIDA helps you practice interviewing, gives you all the resume tips and tricks, helps you get your resume ready and is even there to support you through negotiations. The support you receive through the Facebook group once you are through the program is another valuable piece. I could continue on, but just take my word for it. This is the best learning experience I've ever had and the best decision I've made in a decade. I was a teacher for 16 years. After finishing AIDA, I spent three weeks applying for jobs like crazy. I had 4 interviews within 6 weeks and 2 accepted offers (I had to call one back after the 2nd came though.) One year short of the day I started AIDA, I am now a full time ID working fully remote from home on a flexible schedule and I have DOUBLED my teaching salary. Just go for it. This is a decision you will not regret!

Best decision of my life

Best decision of my life was to give AIDA a chance. I was taught so much, had a POD group leader that was in my corner 24\7 along with great POD-mates that I still am in contact with today. Any questions or concerns that I had left the moment I had my first group check in with my leader, because it is obvious EVERYONE wants for you to exceed. My current position is part time and I still make more than I did when I worked full time. Plus, it is all remote, so I work from home. If you are considering trying AIDA I highly recommend giving them a chance. But only if you want to change your life.
