Cheap and effective. Though they do try to upsell you on a bunch of stuff, you can just ignore it.
The best for domains
I use Porkbun for all my domains and I couldn’t be happier. Excellent prices — among the lowest out there — and unlike other registrars, the price stays the same at renewal, with no nasty surprises in year two. WHOIS privacy and an SSL certificate come free with every domain. The site is incredibly easy to use — everything is right where you’d expect it. And the support team is responsive and actually solves what you need. Highly recommend!

Porkbun Facilitates HTTPS Inside a Strict Firewall
I am very happy with Porkbun as my new Domain Name provider. I operate significant equipment behind a firewall that blocks unsolicited inbound traffic. Internally, everything operates much more smoothly when local clients can access local machines and services with HTTPs (rather than HTTP). I was able to use xcaddy and Go (a newer version with the crypto/hkdf library) to build a custom caddy that incorporates the "Porkbun module for Caddy". The Porkbun module facilitates secure communications with Porkbun - all fully managed by caddy - that manipulates DNS records related to the ACME protocol. Caddy secures TLS/SSL certificates and wraps what would be HTTP producing HTTPS. Everything "just works". My border router has a local DNS table that directs internal requests to caddy. Internal clients see HTTPS where they would otherwise see HTTP.

domain too expensive
the 2 domains (.vet, .family) are getting really expensive
Reply from Porkbun2026-08-07
Hi there, we understand the frustration with prices climbing year over year. In this case both .vet and .family had wholesale increases from the registry that operates them, Identity Digital. We price both TLDs at cost, meaning wholesale plus ICANN and credit card fees with no markup added, and have done so for years, so registry increases show up directly in what you pay. We do carry a lot of TLDs from other registries that are priced well below those two. If you'd like help finding a comparable name that fits your budget better, email [email protected] and we'll be happy to pull together some options.
Super site.

Porkbun: The Refreshingly Honest Domain Registrar That Actually Puts Customers First
If you’re tired of domain registrars that lure you in with rock-bottom first-year prices only to hit you with painful renewal hikes, constant upsells, and confusing dashboards, Porkbun feels like a breath of fresh air. I’ve used Porkbun for registering and managing domains, and it’s consistently one of the most straightforward and customer-friendly experiences in the industry. Their pricing is transparent and competitive—often near cost—with many popular extensions (including .com) renewing at roughly the same rate you paid to register them. No bait-and-switch, no hidden fees, and no pressure to buy extras you don’t need. What really stands out is everything that comes free with every domain: full WHOIS privacy protection, Let’s Encrypt SSL certificates that auto-renew, URL forwarding, email forwarding, and solid DNS management. These are features other registrars frequently charge extra for, but Porkbun includes them as standard because they believe privacy and basic security shouldn’t cost extra. The interface is clean, no-frills, and easy to navigate—even if you’re not deeply technical. Bulk searching and buying domains is quick, transfers are smooth, and the overall process feels efficient and low-stress. Their quirky pig-themed branding (“an oddly satisfying experience”) adds a fun, memorable personality without getting in the way of functionality. Customer support is responsive and helpful when you need it, with options for chat, email, and phone during their hours. Combined with a strong reputation (consistently high ratings on platforms like Trustpilot) and a solid selection of TLDs plus optional hosting and email services, Porkbun has earned its place as a top choice for individuals, developers, and small businesses who just want reliable domains without the usual industry nonsense. If you value fair pricing, free essentials, and a hassle-free experience, Porkbun is an easy recommendation. It’s the rare registrar that seems genuinely focused on doing right by its customers.
