Galápagos Islands and Machu Picchu

Traveling to the Galápagos Islands and exploring Peru and Machu Picchu was a longtime bucket list travel destination for me. SA Expeditions, in particular our travel consultant, Tom, developed a vacation that exceeded our expectations. Our itinerary was personalized and perfectly matched to our objectives. The staff who assisted us in the Galápagos Islands and the Sacred Valley were very qualified and knowledgeable. In particular, our guide in Peru, Alfredo, added to every aspect of experiences. We will definitely consider using SA Expeditions for future travel.

SA Expeditions trip to Galapagos and Machu Picchu

Laura of SA Expeditions planned a trip to Galapagos and Machu Picchu for me. The entire two week trip was perfectly planned including private tours with the best guides and drivers and various pick-ups at airports and hotels. The communication from the time I booked the trip was incredibly thorough so I knew everything that had to be done prior to the trip as well as helpful information for each country and site to be visited. There was also communication during the trip to make sure everything was going well. It was a wonderful trip and I would definitely use SA Expeditions again.

3 Week Trip to India

Kathryn and I are back and settling in nicely after our journey to India, and we wanted to send a proper note to thank you for scheduling such an incredible trip. As it was our first time in India, we weren't entirely sure what to expect, but this 3-week adventure truly turned out to be one of our best vacations ever! You did an absolutely flawless job selecting and booking all of the hotels and resorts, the individual tours, safaris, and multiple flights within the country. Every single booking was completely correct, and we were promptly and warmly met at all transfer points by SA representatives. Their level of care was outstanding—they even walked with us directly onto the train platforms to ensure we boarded the correct trains. Meeting local SA lead Betsy in person on our second day in New Delhi was a wonderful touch; she gave us a fantastic overview of our itinerary and complete reassurance of a seamless, worry-free trip. While we were previously unfamiliar with the Oberoi Hotel Company, the Oberoi hotels and resorts we stayed at in Delhi, Agra, and Bandhavgarh National Park were nothing short of exceptional. The customer focus and attentiveness there were greatly appreciated. Furthermore, our tour guides were incredibly knowledgeable, especially during our all-day tours of Old Delhi and Agra, including that magnificent dawn trip to the Taj Mahal. The 10-day Brahmaputra River cruise with the Assam Bengal Navigation Company was another major highlight. The Charaidew II is a beautiful ship, and the crew was fantastic. We deeply enjoyed exploring the monasteries, temples, local villages, schools, tea plantations, and silk manufacturing facilities. Spending two full days at Kaziranga National Park on safari seeing the wildlife—including the great one-horned rhinoceros—was a remarkable experience. To top it all off, our final stop at the Glenburn Estate in Darjeeling was absolutely fantastic. Thank you again for all of your dedicated help in planning and booking this vacation. SA Expeditions was very helpful in planning an amazing trip to Morrocco. Everything was taken care of for us including a great guide Nourdine and wonderful driver Abas who was with us through the entire trip. It really made a difference because we felt safe and we learned so much about Moroccan culture, art and food.

Herein lies a tale.

Herein lies a tale. A friend invited me to join him on a safari in Africa, which I gratefully accepted. Since I was going to be "in the neighbourhood" I wanted to see if I could visit some of the Regimental history sites that have long held a fascination for me. Multiple online searches led to nothing firm. In desperation I started to randomly email South African travel agents. Other than one AI (which I promptly wrote off), Nick at SA Expeditions responded with a "let me see what I can do". Lo and behold he came up with a tailor made tour that checked off darn near everything on my wish list. A specialist guide, a vehicle and driver, accommodations, everything I needed. Aside from one minor hiccup - which has been dealt with satisfactorily - everything went amazingly well. Nick made that portion of my trip a memorable reality, for which i am sincerely grateful. No hesitation whatsoever in recommending SA Expeditions!!!!! By the way - the safari portion was a huge success also, but that is another story.

We had a wonderful experience with the Galapagos trip SA expeditions organized for my family. Our families comprised of myself and my husband, as well as our three daughters aged 24, 23 and 20. The accommodations on our sailing vessel the Tribute were fabulous. The boat was in excellent conditions and our cabins were beautifully appointed and continuously spruce up whenever we left the room. The meals were expertly prepared and definitely gourmet. All of our excursions whether they were hiking or snorkeling were expertly guided. Our two naturalists Christian and Hanzel were extremely knowledgeable in everything to do with the flora and fauna of the Galapagos. I highly recommend essay expeditions for their expertise and thoroughness of providing a truly memorable experience.

SA Expeditions made multi-country travel easy

SA Expeditions coordinated everything we asked for in the specified timeframe since we had specific dates for our trip due to a limited time crunch. We had multiple stops and guides and all were excellent- friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. They took care of all transportation and airline travel in between our 4 destinations in 2 different countries. They even helped at the airports making the domestic flights easy to navigate. We only had to get ourselves to our initial destination and back home afterwards. We had terrific accommodations, placed in convenient locations for exploring historic areas on our own as well. We felt very safe everywhere. Since we are a family of 5 they were also able to accommodate our odd number of people. We had a fantastic time with everything running smoothly since it was so well-planned.

We just returned from a 2 week trip…

We just returned from a 2 week trip from May 8 to May 21, 2026 to Ecuador and Peru that included Quito, the Galapagos Islands, Lima, Cuzco and Machu Picchu. It was totally wonderful and exceeded our expectations in every respect. Everything had been planned by SA representative Tom Carroll who was exceptional. All of the drivers, guides and folks who supported us in every country along the way went above and beyond and were extremely knowledgable, teaching us so much as we explored and were kind, warm and inviting. The hotels Tom selected were perfect and every transition was handled effortlessly (for us) and with care. We totally recommend them and want to thank them all for making our trip such a great experience.

Had a great trip to Machu Picchu and the Galapagos. There are a lot of logistics to visiting Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu so very grateful we had Claudia coordinate our trip and that we had such a great guide with Evert. Galapagos was amazing. Solaris crew took great care of us and our guide Fabricio was the best, extremely knowledgeable with a great personality. Highly recommend

Upfront, Jana Rodriguez made our planning very easy. She answered all of our questions promptly, and very effectively tailored our trip to meet our needs. Our guide in Peru, Mario, was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. Our boat trip around the Galapagos was remarkable, with our guide Chris on another scale with his knowledge and friendliness.

Galapagos/Machu Picchu Trip April 2026

We recently came back from a Galapagos and Machu Picchu trip and it was amazing. Our SA rep. Pilar was excellent and not only did a fantastic job helping us develop the perfect itinerary but made sure all the connections with the local guides went without flaw. We even got to scuba dive in the Galapagos and that was a once in a life time experience. If your thinking about an Ecuador, Galapagos and Peru (Machu Picchu) trip SA is the right choice. Morocco is a spectacular country with incredible food, breathtaking sights, and wonderfully welcoming people. Traveling through the vibrant medinas and bustling souks, while experiencing the natural beauty of the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert, truly felt like stepping back in time. SA Expeditions put together an excellent itinerary, with outstanding hotel selections that were a real highlight of the private tour experience. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about Morocco, although at times the depth of the historical detail was a bit more than we were looking for. Overall, it was a fantastic trip, and we would highly recommend SA Expeditions.

Bolivia Trip - Spring 2026

SA Expeditions makes my life easy when planning an amazing outdoor adventure. Last year (2025), we went to Peru, hiked the Salkantay Trek, and saw Machu Picchu. The ease of the planning, the help with the preparation, and the incredible trip that resulted brought us back to SA Expeditions when we wanted to plan a Bolivia trip for the Spring of 2026. The planning and preparation was again made so easy by Megan, our SA Expeditions rockstar contact. On the trip, we enjoyed the culture of La Paz, hiked in the Valle de Animas (Valley of Souls), trekked the Condoriri Circuit, and summited Huayna Potosi. Megan handled all of the logistics in the planning phase, so we just had a blast the entire time. If you don't want to do your own research, tell SA Expeditions your goals for a trip, and they will craft you an itinerary and also provide many alternative options of things to do. If you have something in particular you want to include that you find through independent research, let them know and they will work it in and make the perfect custom trip for you. I am very satisfied with their work; I have used them twice and will use them again.

We used Claudia Cavero to plan our trip to Thailand. She was great to work with and the trip was fantastic. The four star rating is because, to our surprise, we never heard from her after our return. We've never used a tour company that didn't check in after a trip to see how we enjoyed it, ask for feedback, a review, etc. A month after our return I wrote her saying so and her reply was that it was high season and she was not able to follow up. I would definitely use SA again, but not Claudia.
