Melissa was great especially meeting with us by zoom prior to the trip to review details and to give her advice. Every detail was covered-----excellent guides and drivers who were friendly, well informed, and prompt. Recommendations for restaurants and activities were spot on. I really appreciated the "just in case" contact info we received before and during the trip.....but there was no need as the plans were designed and executed superbly. Thanks!
I would strongly caution others before trusting SA Expeditions with an important or once-in-a-lifetime trip. I typically plan my own travel, but for my 50th birthday trip to Patagonia, I decided to trust SA Expeditions based on their strong reviews and promises of a seamless luxury experience. That turned out to be a very expensive mistake. We booked a 4-night stay at Las Torres inside Torres del Paine National Park. Before paying the deposit, I specifically confirmed with our advisor that the room was available and was told a hold had been placed for us. Four days later, we were told the room was actually unavailable. Our options were to change our travel dates or stay outside the park and commute in daily, which completely defeated the purpose of booking Las Torres. Their explanation was that it was Easter weekend and they didn’t know the room was unavailable until later. That is unacceptable from a company selling luxury travel services. Don’t confirm availability and take deposits unless the reservation is actually secured. To make matters worse, they refused to fully refund our deposit and kept $1,560 despite being unable to provide the trip they sold us. The entire experience felt like a bait and switch. Ironically, a trip like this is not even difficult to plan yourself since Las Torres handles the excursions directly. I wish I had skipped SA Expeditions entirely and booked it myself.
Amazing trip... SA Expeditions knocked it out of the park! Laura put everything together for us so we were met at the airports, they took care of all our luggage, provided nice cars and English speaking guides to hotels, and even assisted us with check-in and check-out. At the airport, they walked us thru foreign airports and made us feel totally comfortable. The hotels and the tours were outstanding. We would highly recommend them and plan to take future trips using them.
We make several trips a year and this trip organized for us by SA Expeditions was amazing. No detail was overlooked in the planning and execution of the itinerary. We will definitely be doing more SA Expeditions trips in the future.
Laura was extremely helpful in creating a personalized Galapagos and Quito itinerary for our family. The cruise and all the guides were top notch! It was an amazing trip of a lifetime!
We are grateful for our well organized trip and the great customer service. Claudia C. was great to work with, listened to what I wanted and designed a trip to meet my boyfriend’s needs and mine. She was helpful and accessible. I measure companies on how they handle challenges because they are inevitable, and I had confidence in SA and their team handled things as I hoped and imagined. Our guides and drivers were great in Cuzco through Peru and in Ecuador. Truly top notch. We adored Edwin and Romolo in Peru and the back up driver, Roberto. Edwin is very informative , engaging and helpful. We loved him. We were sad to say goodbye to our new friend. In Ecuador, our driver, Alejandro was wonderful. We really enjoyed his personality and the information he shared. We also enjoyed Sebastian as a guide on our full day excursion and he made a restaurant reservation for us to ensure they could accommodate us. So thoughtful. Our accommodations were lovely in every city and we appreciated that the flights SA booked were premium economy. The extra level of comfort was appreciated which was contrasted with the flights that the Monique arranged which were standard coach. The Monique is a beautiful yacht with a nice crew. Our naturalist, Chris, was top notch. His energy is contagious. We were blessed by the wildlife we got to see and the wonderful experience we had. The SA emergency contact team is wonderful and I liked that we could connect with them on WhatsApp too. When we arrived in Peru, we couldn’t locate the girl who was meeting us although we had looked everywhere. It was great to have a contact who was able to connect us. Having that initial interaction is what made me confident when we were returning that the flight situation would be resolved ( not the fault of SA expeditions) while we were en route to Guayaquil. I am very happy that we chose SA Expeditions and I am grateful for Claudia’s assistance in arranging everything so beautifully. Thoughtful touches make the experience extra special and we appreciated a few special treats. In sum, we loved our vacation which was fabulous: the accommodations, the experience and the service.
In booking the trip, working with Pilar Cisceneros was fabulous. She was cordial, clear and explained tour options knowledgeably, and patiently. The hotels were very nice. The hotel at Iguaçu Falls was quite a surprise. Being on Copacabana and Ipanema beaches was really fun. Our guides, Federico in Buenos Aires, Gabriel at Igauzu Falls, and Marcos in Rio decision were all excellent. The tango show transportation forgot to pick us up. We booked an Uber, so we were late. The tango show people were very gracious in trying to make it up to us. We had a great trip. Thank you!

His local insights significantly enriched our experience, making site visits more engaging and educational. Max’s ability to adapt to our interests and pace added a personal touch to the tour. On initial contact, the relationship was one of guide and clients; however, this quickly evolved into that of adopted family members. Accommodations arranged during the tour were comfortable, clean, and conveniently located. Sandro, our driver, (04/07-10/2026) provided the safest, most comfortable transportation in very complex traSic and road conditions that included speed bumps/trenches and extremely sharp curves. My wife and I recently used SA Expeditions for a trip to the Galapagos and Machu Picchu. From start to finish, everything on the trip was fantastic. Booking was easy and questions related to the trip prior to departure were quickly answered by our SA expert. Additional information is available for each location, and everything was planned perfectly. Transitions between locations were seamless with someone at each location to ensure rides and airport transfers are smooth with no problems. The guides for each location are extremely knowledgeable. The hotels we stayed in were exceptional, and the booked tours were amazing.

SA Expeditions really takes care of you! Transfers are private and always on time, transfer staff are very helpful - beyond what you might expect - with boarding passes and luggage check-in tags pre-printed and escorts to the counter. We are experienced travelers, but it was very fast and convenient. If you're a hesitant traveler - this is the way to go.
It was very organized. I had what I thought was a very complicated trip by my request with everything I wanted to do. My itinerary was sent was very detailed with almost everything being covered. Laura was very diligent about responding to my emails promptly, without judgement, even thought I had re-read the paperwork many times. The guides were on time, very knowledgeable, and flexible. Everyone was kind and professional. I had great hotels and the meals that were included were special.

SA expeditions planned a stellar trip for our family of 4 to Chile over Christmas!!! Hayley was wonderful to work with and listened to our needs, requests and budget and put together an amazing itinerary which took us from Santiago to Atacama and Patagonia. Every detail was thought out and executed, from hotel/airport transfers to daily excursions and more. Our local guides were highly knowledgeable, professional and helpful in every way and made the excursions fun for all ages. If you're thinking of using SA expeditions for a trip I wouldn't hesitate. We highly recommend them!
They took care of everything and there staff were fantastic! The only improvement would be that they recommend the tour to Isabella Island for the best snorkeling
Claudia Cavero was our first contact with SA Expeditions. She started out great and kept things moving very smoothly putting together our trip to the Galapagos and Quito, Ecuador. The guides and rooms were top notch and very enjoyable. I will not hesitate to book another trip with them.

Seamless on the ground -- every driver was on time, every site was worth seeing, and every accommodation was comfortable and lovely. It was a little bumpy in the planning with arrangements shifting even after the trip was paid for. But the team worked hard to make it worth the flexibility and they succeeded. Their responsiveness was excellent throughout the entirety of the trip--from the first phone call to landing safely back home.
