Hi Reade, electricity prices is definitely something to consider when deciding when to chop with Salad. We have a tool, the network demand monitor, that reports current demand levels and average earnings for GPUs on the network. I recommend using this to make informed decisions about when Chopping is right for you and your circumstance. https://salad.com/earn/demand We understand sometimes the maths just doesn't work out, and we always tell our Chefs to come back to the chopping board when it's right for them. Somethimes don't work weel just mining. If I run Salad 24/7 can be some extra price or better job with better $$$. Or some bonus ;)

When Salad falls back to mining, that just means there aren’t GPU Container Jobs available for your hardware at that moment. Backup crypto mining keeps you earning, but Container Jobs are usually the higher-paying workloads and are assigned based on network demand, hardware specs, and overall reliability. As for a secret 24/7 bonus button, we like the ambition, there isn’t a manual “extra price” switch. That said, Chefs who Chop consistently and rack up solid uptime can reach Star Chef status, which prioritizes them for higher-paying jobs when demand is strong. So steady Chopping does help over time. Make sure all workload types are enabled, and keep an eye on demand levels in the Network Monitor to see when better-paying jobs are active. app runs fine...fees @ 15% per $100
app runs fine. rewards acrue based on GPU. my first claim for rewards was over 1 year (close to 2) in using the app. I only give 4 stars because of the FEE that is charged, 15% per $100. in perspective--a 3060 GPU can earn $1.50 (pretty much MAX, closer to $1.24 a day normally...WHEN U R given a job that lasts 24 hours) so U process for 81 days (full 24 hour days) and then loose all 'rewards' for 12 of those days. That's quite steep!
The experience overall is great
The experience overall is great. Very seamless and basically invisible. The downsides for me have always been the constant updates and also the low jobs. I guess that comes with huge supply and slower supply generation which I suppose comes with any platform that is gaining popularity.
Salad Experience
Using salad was a great experience. I can leave my computer on while salad brought me either a couple cents or a full dollar. I managed to get some fun steam games and many gift cards. But most of those were just Xbox $1 gift cards. It takes a lot of time to get those $5 dollar ones at least. As of now, I am spending 5.99 on a prepaid card which I got from salad. I would say that this is the easiest way to get gift cards if you like games a lot. Unfortunately, the new RTX 4090 came out and etc, so now my 3060 TI doesn't produce that much anymore. If you want to produce money for gift cards quicker, make sure your GPU is recently new. Overall, this app is a four star only because they downgraded how much money I get because of my GPU.
