DANCSAK RECORDS has used Songtools as a great way to get a record in front of playlist curators and new fans by running ads. Few companies are a vetted way of promoting a new song, approved by at least one major distributor I can think of. Great communication as well.
I was genuinely surprised at how well my campaign worked. It started steadily but really picked up and gave me solid growth and now I'm on algorithmic playlists which is excellent. This is definitely one of the best services I've used.
I have used songtools for a few campaigns and have had good results. Each time my song was placed on playlists, sometimes several playlists. Some of them were larger than others, but all of them resulted in more plays and some follows. One of my songs received around 5k streams from a 7 day campaign, that was my best result, and was on my most mainstream/marketable sounding song, which tells me people are actually listening to them for placement. The interface is easy and they offer discounts occasionally, would recommend giving it a try.
So far songtools - specifically playlister.club is my favorite tool. It can be confusing sometimes because it's hard to know why people aren't listening - but by the end of the campaign (2 wks) I had a lot of success - over 8 or so solid playlists.
Always my first step in promoting a new release! Great playlists, and real listeners. Playlisters do appear to all be legit and vetted by songtools, which is awesome as well, not to mention very helpful tech support that actually responds (a rarity these days). I highly recommend Songtools to help get Your songs out there.
The first song I placed with songtools got poor placements and the second song got no placements. I always do a lot of research before submitting to playlist pitchers to ensure they don't use bots, which songtools doesn't. So my low rating of Songtools here has more to do with the fact that it's not a good fit for me. But it's at least not a scam (I don't think) and they're not using bots, so they've got that going for them. My genre is a bit niche (Christian music), so I guess my recommendation is that if you're a Christian artist don't use this service unless in the future they add more playlists to the roster of lists they pitch music to.
Was able to get placed and reviewed on different playlists, the price makes it hard to keep the campaign going though for more than a week. if there was a bundle deal for multiple songs at once it may be worth it a little more.
Overall a great resource for artists to get their music listened to and potentially put on several playlists. Interface is clean and easy to use and if you ever do have an issue customer service is very friendly and easy to work with.
SongTools is a highly motivating tool for a new release. The platform is very user-friendly, and it provides honest, positive reviews. It allows you to use advanced marketing curation and promotion technologies without the hassle of messaging curators directly or dealing with harsh messages from listeners. While the pricing can get a bit expensive for long-term campaigns spanning 3 to 6 months, it is fair for short to mid-term campaigns. The only issue I encountered was a low conversion rate on Spotify; despite being placed in playlists with a combined 300K followers, my album's monthly listeners only increased by about 160, with around 250 new streams. Still, I am thankful to the team for their support. Looking forward to further collaborations, I would advise them to audit their network based on real artist playlist metrics—where an active list can easily yield up to 450 new streams per month—in order to avoid playlists filled with bots or dormant followers that can ultimately harm our released tracks.
A useful tool for artists. It’s a bit of investment to really get the most from it but can get on some good placements, not exact science all the time but worth as part of a bigger strategy.
My promotion is still running, but so far I have been genuinely impressed by the number of playlists already featuring my music. The campaign has delivered encouraging exposure, along with new listeners and followers.
Working with Songtools has been a refreshing experience. Compared to other playlist promotion providers I have used in the current market, the results have been noticeably stronger and more transparent. While there is still time remaining in the campaign, the quality and volume of playlist placements achieved so far, have exceeded my expectations.
Based on my experience to date, Songtools has proven to be one of the most effective music promotion services I have engaged with.
More options in recognition and sales with record labels and agents
I'd like to see more options for where my songs can be promoted to record labels or agents that can expand my opportunities for more recognition and sales. Your promotion seems limited.
