Extremely rude and unprofessional teachers. I posted a requirements on teacher on and then later I found a tutor on their and other tutors were sending requests on teacher on then I came across this one teacher Sherwant Joshi who I did not want tutoring from him as I found another tutor on there. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. He started threatening me saying I lost 500 rs applying to your post, will you refund that back. At least have some professionalism by at least replying people. My post was not a spam Like he said . Like I'm not forced to reply if I do not want...they were forcing me to join them when I went ahead with another tutor already.
Some other tutors were also scammers as well. There was just no response when asking for their qualifications etc just shows they are not genuine tutors.
Dear Educators,
I feel compelled to share my experience regarding TeacherOn and their unique, highly questionable business model.
The process begins innocently enough: they invite you to register and verify your authenticity. However, once you are inside, the trap is set. They require you to purchase "coins." If a student profile catches your interest, you must spend these coins to unlock their contact number.
Yet, the moment you call the provided number, the reality sets in. The student invariably claims they never posted an advertisement or signed up on the platform. Your money is gone. Should you dare to raise a complaint with TeacherOn, you are met with a remarkably arrogant response—treating customer service with the bureaucratic grandeur of an institution chartered directly by the Parliament of India.
Dealing with them feels like you could easily secure an appointment with the Prime Minister, yet getting a response from their elusive management, such as the mysterious Mr. Arun Verma, is entirely impossible. Even their basic corporate identity is a moving target: one page claims they originated from Punjab, while another suggests they belong to Karnataka or Bangalore.
Mr. Arun Verma operates like a modern-day untouchable boss, orchestrating a system that systematically preys on educators over trivial pretexts. TeacherOn functions less like a legitimate platform and more like a fraudulent operation, with Mr. Verma acting as the chief architect of a digital shakedown. Try looking for a transparent YouTube channel or public accountability from them—you will find nothing, because there is nothing legitimate to show.
Do not buy their coins. Do not waste your time, your money, or your energy. At the end of the day, you will be left with nothing.
My responsibility is to warn you. Despite this advice, if you still choose to engage with them, the decision is entirely yours.
With regards,
Rajiv Brahma
I created my tutor profile on TeacherOn over 2 months ago and completed all required fields and documents (ID proof, certifications). My profile is still stuck under "review" status and hasn't been verified. I have emailed their support team multiple times with no response at all. There is no live chat or phone support available either. Very disappointed with the lack of communication — please verify tutor profiles in a reasonable time or at least respond to support emails.
Just had a slight delay in phone verification, but I loved the experience, I could easily get the phone number for the tutor, and he contacted.
Chatgpt recommended a tutor from teacheron, the pricing was reasonable and I found the right match. Thanks Tutoron
Good platform to find skilled trainers. Helped me a lot. Some gave a demo-lesson before we actually started. Recommended. And payment and review-system in it works smooth.
Avoid this platform at all costs if you value your time and professional dignity. TeacherOn operates on a predatory, hidden "pay-to-play" model that they conveniently fail to mention upfront.
You spend your time meticulously filling out your profile, uploading your Master's degree, and detailing your professional experience. Only after you finish onboarding and try to contact a student do you hit a paywall. You are forced to buy "coins" just to send a basic message.
To make matters worse, you have to pay upfront just to apply for garbage $1-$2/hour leads, with absolutely zero guarantee the student will even open your message. If they don't read it, you still lose your money. They also use dynamic pricing, meaning the cost of applying increases as more teachers bid.
Legitimate tutoring platforms take a commission from your actual earnings. TeacherOn operates like a rigged casino, charging freelancers for a mere chance to work. It’s an absolute waste of time and an insult to qualified professionals.
COMPLETE FRAUD!
Explanation:
1- They have a system in which you have to buy coins
2- You are shown tuitions in which you apply as a teacher by spending coins you buy from them
3- Problem is: these are fake AI generated gigs on which you spend your money
4- They have gamed & conned the system very "holistically". All of your mouse-clicks and user-interaction are monitored. First they figure out what you want and then they show you fake tuitions so you want to spend even more money. For example: suppose you send a proposal to a student "Hey! I am also a student like you and I can understand what its like to be a student. Plus I can explain things from a student perspective". After 1-2 days you'll get an exact gig in which the student himself says "I am searching for someone who can explain from a student perspective. They should be a student themselves". So you'll be motivated to spend money on that gig now. Alas! They are all fake gigs.
5- Here is what made me finally realise the scam: So i was shown a gig in which there was no mobile or contact information. To me it seemed like an AI generated gig, so I thought "let me sign up as a student and see the process from student perspective". Lo and behold! You cannot even proceed unless you enter mobile number so how the gig had no contact info? Definitely AI generated. I dropped all activity on website at once. After 2 days I get an email from HR they were literally "apologising" to me and saying "now we have the mobile number". It made me even more suspicious. So you are generating AI gigs and then monitoring response of people and then refining the scam when people are getting discouraged? I wish I did not drop activity at once because now they know why I went away and they will further refine the scam
Additional info:
I started getting WhatsApp spam as well. So it seems they also sell your info to telemarketers
Manu’s father, I am satisfied with the overall support Manu is receiving in her mathematics learning journey here in Australia. The tutor has provided helpful insights into Manu’s progress and learning habits. It was identified that while she understands concepts during lessons, she sometimes forgets them due to inconsistent practice.
Caution for Teachers & Parents – Advance Payment Taken, No Service Delivered
“I want to share a recent experience so others don’t fall into a similar situation.
I was contacted by the founder Arun Verma with an opportunity to teach student batches with good pay. To proceed, I was asked to make multiple payments (₹4,500 + ₹5,000 + ₹5,500), each time with the assurance that the amount would be refunded.
After payment:
No students were assigned
No service was provided
Refund was not processed
Communication stopped completely
⚠️ Lesson learned:
Don’t pay upfront for student leads
Be cautious of ‘refund later’ promises
Always verify through official channels
I’ve already raised complaints through official portals. Just posting this so others stay alert.”
