Fantastic La Paz Day Tour

I had a great time with Andrew the tour guide and Nelson the driver. They took me all around La Paz, including Valle de las Animas, Valle de la Luna, the downtown areas, brujas market, telefericos, etc. Highly recommend!

They are an option ig

Honestly, this purchase was worth the price we paid but it didn't come without troubles. Customer service was not the best. One of our tour days had to be changed because of weather and they didn't reimburse us for the charges of that day. The services that were listed weren't actually included. Again, still worth the price but we were expecting more well, because it included more. We had different tour guides for most of the days and some of them were much better than others. We preferred Ingrid and Noe, they were much more enthused to show us around. The first guide was going to skip one of our stops (Las maras) until I had to ask so we ended stopping there rushed to catch our train to aguascalientes. They also told me last minute to get a hotel there. A lot of the days we weren't told the plan or what to pack. I hiked rainbow mountain in snow with shorts on because I thought it was Humantay day. They were not clear with directions at all. and I speak spanish it was not a comprehension thing, they just failed to mention a lot. Worth the price and convenience but make sure you ask / double check a lot of things. I am still waiting a reply to see if they can deduct some of the money from their promised tour. Something tells me I might not get anything. When booking our Machu pichu tour originally they said we are doing circuit 2b and asked if we wanted to pay for an upgrade to do circuit 1 & 3 instead we politely declined and said we wanted circuit 2. They "changed" it for us because it was better and then we kept going back and forth we didn't ask or want a change. They kept trying to explain it was over and over no one was owning up to the mistake they made even if we said " hey it's fine if you made a mistake just let us know and we can do 1 &3 instead". Anyway, it was too close to our trip to cancel. Not the best customer service. I didn't get a chance to research more but if you have time. research more and worse comes to worse they're an option.

Great Sales/After Sales Team ; better tour provider to be found

The company has great support system, with a responsive Sales and After Sales Team. However the tour I booked through them didn't match my expectations, as the company that it has been outsourced from was not providing a service at the standard I was expecting. but Visit South America understood my complaint and took it into consideration. Highly appreciated.

Unfortunately, disappointing

We booked this tour online with less than a week’s time panicking that we wouldn’t be able to find another tour available and looking back I wish we had done more research. The tour lacked organisation and communication. It was advertised as a Spanish/ English tour but everything was in Spanish. It was very hard to communicate with our driver to even ask for the days schedule and toilet stops. The altitude increases drastically from the beginning of the tour and we were not aware of this in advance to prepare accordingly. We were only told that this was going to be a very basic tour on the night before the tour started. It was truly very basic! Had we known we would have bought some snacks and money with us. The views and the sceneries were stunning - truly beautiful region of Bolovia - but prepare for long drives on unpaved and bumpy roads. Also the car should have been for 5 and not 6 people, as we were all suffering with the lack of space. The tour follows a route with other tours and so all the spots are crowded. There isn’t flexibility to change the route or even pick where to eat. We would have preferred to have the option to pay more and upgrade our food options. The accommodations were ok, just budget hotels. 1 of them only had hot water and free WiFi. We slept fine. Finally, everyone else on the tour had booked their tours in town for a lot lower price than we did online - I believe the price other paid was fair for the experience, but ours not so much. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this tour. If you’re a budget traveller better book it in your for the right price. Had we know we would have booked a private tour for a similar price to what we paid. I do recommend however seeing and exploring Bolovia as it is a stunning country with a lot of natural beauty!

Magical time in Bolivia. Thanks you VSA!

A truly outstanding experience booking with VSA! We opted for a tailored package that included more than a week in the Salt Flats, followed by an authentic experience in La Paz. We were in search for the perfect weather conditions to experience the reflection at Salar de Uyuni so we were in touch with VSA on a DAILY basis for their updates on weather predictions. They always answered quickly with all the info and handled logistics perfectly on time, even with just a few hours notice. We were brought luxury Lexus cars and the lunches were great (especially the llama and plantains)! Our experience in La Paz was great too! From local hidden gem food spots, local football matches to amazing hikes! We truly fell in love with Bolivia and we can’t wait to return! 100000% reccomend!

Machupicchu

Unforgettable Experience with South America Travel Agency in Machu Picchu! I had the pleasure of visiting the breathtaking Machu Picchu with South America Travel Agency, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From the very first moment, their team was professional, friendly, and well-organized. Every aspect of the journey, from the transport to the guided tours, was seamless and exceeded all my expectations. But what truly made this adventure special was my guide, Gregory. His knowledge of the history, culture, and significance of Machu Picchu was unparalleled. He had an incredible ability to bring the ancient site to life, weaving fascinating stories and legends that enriched the entire experience. Not only did he ensure that we saw all the important landmarks, but he also made sure we took in the best views and hidden gems around the site. His passion for the Incan culture and the natural beauty of the area was contagious, and he really made the trip unforgettable. Gregory’s attention to detail and personal touch throughout the tour made me feel completely at ease. He was attentive, patient, and always eager to answer any questions I had. Whether it was snapping the perfect photo or offering tips on how to navigate the site, his kindness and professionalism were truly exceptional

We can't recommend VisitSouthAmerica.

We can't recommend VisitSouthAmerica. The communication off and with the agency was bad. We first tried to get informations to our booking via email. After days without reaction, we tried via whatsapp. There we got the response that our mail was received but not answered yet. Also we asked if there are any changes to the route of our 3 day uyuni tour because of the rain. The answer was no. But on the tour there were many changes, mainly because of the rain. On the first day we should be picked up at 6.30am. The van arrived at 7.20am. Then the van picked up other people and speeded to the border. There we were the last van because of the delay. After bordercrossing we changed to the 4x4 by 'Sol Andina' which was in very bad conditions. The front window was broken, the wiper, the speedo and other parts were not working. The driver 'Benjamin' was hectic and in a hurry because of the delay and speeded through the tour. Stops were short and the ride was fast. The driver were no guide and only spoke spanish. Also there should have been a guide which speaks english. On the first accomodation we noticed that all our luggage was wet because of the rain and the bad tarped on the roof of the car. The first accomodation was cold, had no heaters, no windows to open, no ventilation and black mould around the windows. After an argue a open gas heater was offered to dry the clothes and the agency changed the driver for the next days. On the second day we started with our new driver 'Juan', who was very endeavor to be a good driver and guide. We are thankfull for his dedication even as the agency did not provide him the infos of our booking like the displayed route or that we we will stay in uyuni. On the second day we had a 40+min stop at the village Julaca. It's basically a village of some small almacens on both sides of a traintrack with a lot of litter, loud music from every shop and nothing to see. It's a complete waste of time while you speed through other parts of the route. The second accomodation was also very basic. Our room had only windows to the floor, which were partialy just holes in the wall with no glas and a little blanket. All in all the accomodations were very raw, food wasn't good, the car partialy broken, the route different and no english guides for a lot of money. Our recommodation is to book a cheaper tour with another agency because the agencys just book local drivers/operators. Every agency seems to do the same tour with the same accomodations and stops. Prepare for a raw experience, high altitudes and enjoy the fantastic lanscape. Bring water and cash for toilets, wifi and entrances ;)

The tour was good and the tour guide was awesome

The tour was good and the tour guide really awesome but the hotels where very basic and one didn’t even had soap on the bathrooms. I wonder how the kitchen stuff upholds basic hygiene, no wonder I got food poisoning on the tour.

Expensive for an average experience!

The booking and sharing information online pre booking is great; However for the price, what was communicated, the experience on ground it was average . The 2 local drivers on ground were really nice and having just them as guides would have been good. We chose an English guide and a photographer for some fun shots if possible. 1. We were told , we would get an early check in and breakfast included the night before we left and once when we arrive . However at the hotel we were told no early check in and we paid for breakfast for the first day. The person chatting with us didn't check if we paid or not. ( again communication vs what happened on ground was different ) 2. We booked a 2 Day tour . On the second day after we checked out we were told that the tour ends at 4 as the two drivers had to rush to pick up new clients. There was almost an abrupt end to our trip. 3. If planned better or there was more communication , we could have easily had the sunset trip that we paid additionally for , on the second day instead of the first which was a really windy day. 4. Uyuni salt flats day 1 was great despite being windy. However when asked on chat about the star gazing , we were told book the sunset tour in addition. Which we did, however the experimve on ground was more like a check list to be covered. No thought of our request to star gaze or that we had a 3 year old who wouldn't enjoy the windy day and make a recommendation to shift the sunset experience to the next day. In fact the suggestion made by the guide on ground , was to do it at 3 am at a further additional price. 5. Day 2 we chose to do the Lagoons with flamingos and hot water baths. But it seemed the trip was rushed and we were really far away from the lagoons. We were not allowed to hike closer . 6. The food provided was good and the 3 star hotel jar dines was really nice. Over all we had an average experience.

Gorgeous landscape and save driver

Gorgeous landscape and save driver The landscape around Uyuni and the vulcanos, geysirs and lagunes are stunning and definitely worth a visit. We had a shared tour with 2 other visitors, a driver and a guide. The car war in reasonable condition, we were always supplied with fresh and tasty meals. Our driver was driving carefully and safe, was always friendly and very motivated. Great! The reason for 3 out of 5 stars is mostly the absolutely terrible hotel in Chalviri. The Hotel Ecologico de Piedra is by far the worst place that we ever visited. The rooms very molded, that it took your breath. It was really disgusting! Keep in mind that this hotel is located in a desert and it seems to be quite tricky to even get a room to mold there. The bathroom seemed like a torture jail in Afghanistan and there was just not possibility to lock your room because first they would not want to give us key as they said there weren't any. When we pointed out that there are several keys for rooms at the counter they mentioned that the look sometimes does not work - this was actually the case. When you pressed the handle firmly enough the door would open if locked or not. Please, visitsouthamerica, this Hotel is really a huge drawback and we very, very unhappy about it as we paid extra for having private rooms. This is totally unacceptable and I cannot recommend anyone to book tours with stops in sh*thole hotel. To be clear: I do not blame our driver or guide for this but more the organization. Our driver and guide did their best to get us an as possible good experience.

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Family Adventure in Uyuni

I decided to surprise my family with a trip to Uyuni, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! We booked through Visit South America, and from start to finish, they went above and beyond to make the trip unforgettable for all of us. Seeing the Uyuni Salt Flats in person is something you just have to experience. We were blown away by the endless, surreal landscapes—especially at sunset when the sky reflected perfectly off the water. It felt like we were standing on the edge of the world. My parents were in awe, and even my younger siblings couldn’t stop taking photos! What really made the trip special was the attention to detail from Visit South America. Our guide was not only knowledgeable but also super friendly, making sure everyone—from my dad to my little brother—had an amazing time. We stayed in this amazing hotel made of salt (yes, salt!), which was an experience in itself. If you’re thinking about taking your family on an adventure, I highly recommend Uyuni and Visit South America. It was the perfect mix of adventure, family bonding, and jaw-dropping sights. Honestly, I think we’re going to be talking about this trip at family dinners for YEARS to come.

Best Trip Ever—Thank You, Visit South America!

My partner and I just got back from an unforgettable 5-day adventure to Machu Picchu and Cusco with Visit South America, and we are STILL talking about it! From the moment we landed in Cusco, everything was handled so smoothly. The team was super friendly and took care of every detail, so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. Cusco itself blew us away—the cobblestone streets, ancient history around every corner, and the FOOD! But the real highlight was, of course, Machu Picchu. We hiked up to Huayna Picchu (which was SO worth it), and the views were insane. It felt surreal to be there, and our guide made it even better by sharing so much history and insight. If you’re considering this trip, do it! Visit South America made the whole experience seamless, stress-free, and totally unforgettable. It was the perfect mix of adventure and romance.
