About this business

WSJ Wine is your primary source for great wine. Just like the very best writing, great wines tell rich and compelling stories. Similarly rooted in craft and curiosity, wine can inspire fresh thinking and reveal new perspectives. Since 2008, we’ve been on a mission to unearth wines of authenticity and character and share them with fellow wine lovers. That’s why we travel the winemaking world, engaging with the families and visionaries who invest their lives and creativity in wine. Their stories and wine never fail to inspire us—and will always be worth sharing.

What people say

My wine orders continue to take…

My wine orders continue to take "somewhat longer" to fulfill from the time that I initially place an order. Apparently, it always takes 2+ days for a shipping company (FedEx) to actually pickup an order from WSJ wine's supplier, and actually begin the delivery process to me (the customer). I would prefer that WSJ NOT "say that an order has shipped", when in fact the shipping company has not actually pickup up the order yet! Also, I asked for a "redirect" of the shipment because of the law requiring a recipient to be present to sign for an alcoholic beverage order (since I am almost NEVER going to be available at home when a shipment arrives). Unfortunately, for my last order, it was delayed a couple of days because the shipping label (for FedEx) was not correctly filled out (according to FedEx) by WSJ. I would have expected that WSJ would be very familiar with how major shipping companies require a "redirected shipment" to be properly addressed.

Delivery time sent to me was 11AM to…

Delivery time sent to me was 11AM to 3PM and I needed to be here to sign. It kept getting pushed out and FedEx finally showed up at 6:55 PM. When I opened the case there were the three bottles that I ordered. I used an instant read thermometer on them and it read 92.5 degrees. Is that any way to treat a bottle of wine?

David Eckman, We are truly sorry to hear about the significant delay in your delivery and the condition of your wine upon arrival. We understand your frustration with the extended wait and the high temperature of the bottles. We are actively looking into this delivery issue with our partners and reviewing our packaging procedures to prevent such occurrences in the future. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Thanks, Customer Service

Product was shipped via fed express

Product was shipped via fed express. They drive aroung all day inone hundred degree weather and then deliver piping hot wine. This is in spite of me going to the fedex terminal and discussing the heat problem. I was assured that they would avoid the heat which they decededly did not. I hope the wine survives.

We are actively reviewing our shipping procedures and working with our carriers to ensure the integrity of our products during transit, particularly in challenging weather conditions. Your feedback is invaluable as we strive to improve our service. Thanks, Customer Service

No Cabernet

I specifically asked for Cab Sav. I definitely wanted some Cabernet. I received Malbec, Pinot Noir, and even a bottle of White Wine.

Next Day Access of the Twin Ci, We sincerely regret that you received an incorrect wine selection. We understand your disappointment in not getting the Cabernet you wanted. We are reviewing our packing process to prevent this from happening again. Thanks, Customer Service

The change to your delivery program to…

The change to your delivery program to require us to go to FedEx to pick up our wine cases. They have always been delivered to my business address, which is far preferred. As I failed to register the change when your email came, I almost forfeited the case. I was lucky that a friendly FedEx employee called me on the last day before they sent it back to you! I had to travel at rush hour through the worst traffic areas in my area. No bueno.

Hi James, thank you for taking the time to let us know, and we're sorry for the poor delivery experience. We can confirm that there is no policy in place requiring you to pick up your deliveries at a FedEx location and that they should indeed be delivered to your business address as this is what we have on file for your deliveries. It looks like you may have inadvertently selected a pickup address for your order when ordering online, and we can confirm that this is an option and not a requirement. We apologize for any misunderstanding and hope this helps! Thank you, Customer Service
