I have used Baselang for two weeks
I have used Baselang for two weeks, not very long. I have studied Spanish for several years. and at almost 83, I am just trying to improve my understanding and my ability to speak. I have spoken with Spanish speakers off and on in my journey so when I tell you that I am stunned, speechless. (well, not really), amazed that I have really improved in both in just two weeks. I have used about 2o teachers and all but a few are fabulous; kind, patient, helpful and fun/interesting to talk with. The very few who weren't were not bad; I just did not connect with them, not a surprise for an anciana. Thank you for what you do, I am truly impressed and grateful!

I think the introduction of the tip jar exposed what I already suspected
I think the introduction of the tip jar or 'gift money' is a clear indication of what further research characterizes as a failing 'gym membership' business model. Student-customers should not have to subsidize what BaseLang is responsible for paying as a business; it should not be treated as a gig-economy job. Without a low-wage country like Venezuela, BaseLang would not even exist at their $2.00 per hour slave-labor wage. While these teachers are nice at heart, many of them lack enthusiasm or personality, and there is an extreme lack of options to choose from—sometimes there is no one available at all. Everyone should know that the $1,200 'Grammarless' or 'BootCamp' packages are just a scam designed to inject immediate cash, hopefully capturing the New Year's rush and beyond. It is the exact same program for more money, which makes absolutely no sense. The best thing that ever happened to BaseLang was its failure to secure seed capital; venture money would have made no sense and would have merely propped up a mathematically flawed concept. I have not read the platform guidelines regarding review rules. Here are mine: I am an attorney with a First Amendment right, at least in the United States.
For a long time I’ve been looking for a flexible way to learn Spanish, having great teachers and a structured curriculum with plenty of study resources.
I’m glad to have found this site and how affordable it is! $179/month, when I’ve seen those prices for ONLY private classes in a week.
I’ve been using BaseLang for the past several weeks and have loved the teachers I learn alongside and the plethora of content available, highly recommended to anyone 5/5 ⭐️ s. They have a week trial for $1, and it’s been amazing since.
From the YouTube videos, to the flashcards, with enough dedication anyone should be fluent in Spanish by year end- and that’s my hope. Wish me luck and you if you try it!
I love this platform! Can't believe i took a while to subscribe. I love the flexibility of speaking with instructors and how I can have a class every day. Looking to upgrade my membership soon! I like how the instructors are friendly and patient!

Great platform for learning Spanish
This Spanish learning platform is great and is the best value of them all. It took a bit getting used to the system and the teachers but after that is really works
The customer service is excellent and they respond to emails within minutes
The platform is easy to use, flexible for my changing schedule and the teachers are great. The curriculum is thoughtful and effective. Highly recommend! I only wish there was a BaseLang app so I could keep up with my lessons while on the go.

Absolutely phenomenal
Absolutely phenomenal. The platform is excellent and logical to navigate. I appreciate both the structured lesson option as well as the elective/optional lessons. Every professor I've met with has been wonderful. For the first time in my life, I actually feel confident that if I stay consistent I will become conversational, and potentially fluent. Can't say enough good things about Baselang. Skip everything else and just join.
If you truly wanna learn - that’s an amazing opportunity
It’s a perfect opportunity to be able to talk a little everyday. Usually when you study a language, you have 1-2, 3 classes at max, and you’re usually exhausted by the end of the hour. But the idea of small classes of 25 minutes? You can get practice that you actually need.
I love the fact that I can book classes at my convenience and that I’m able to get a group of teachers that I “click” with. There’s usually one available.
A half hour class is perfect for me.
Baselang was an awesome experience! The combination of flexibility, fun group classes, and personalized one on one classes is perfect to advance quickly and most of all the teachers and staff are tremendous and feel like a genuine caring community. Cant recommend enough!
I really dig Baselang. I had some foundation for Spanish, with a few years of study in grade school, and I recently completed the Pimsleur Spanish courses. But having the ability to talk every day with teachers from Latin America is seriously next level. My confidence is way up, and I’m now able to conjugate verbs on the fly, and generally settle into just talking. The teachers are excellent, and patient. And as an added plus, I’m getting done good cultural exposure to the various countries down there. I can’t wait to start buying plane tickets!

I like the Baselang
I like the Baselang . I can choose any time, any teacher, and select a few teachers I like as favorites. Most of the teachers speak English, which is very helpful. The teachers are friendly. Price is also very good.

i love baselang!
i love baselang! i have a total of 4 months to work on my spanish before visiting family, and the lessons and electives are so helpful!!! step by step!
What I miss the most is the conversations. The teachers are very nice, but it's always the same conversation between us.
I would somehow introduce the ability to develop small conversations based on pictures/sentences/stories. Things that are based on real life.
Without question, Baselang is the best platform to learn Spanish that I have ever encountered.
The unlimited online tutoring for a fixed monthly rate is a bargain, (although it is quite costly), when you consider how many hours you study a day with it, you find you are getting tutoring at an impossibly low rate.
In my first month I “leveled up” so fast.
I’ve studied Spanish in High School and college, and still could not hold a basic conversation, (absolutely typical for most Americans, the way they teach it is so lacking in actual listening and speaking.) but after ONE month, I could scratch away at a almost understandable foray into very basic topics.
Fast forward to many lessons later, some immersion in Mexico, and more classes, and my professors are impressed with the fluency I have.
I still have some grammatical errors though, so I am studying more with Baselang before a return trip to Mexico. So far it has been very good to fine tune some things that I didn’t know I was doing wrong.
I often recommend this platform.
If there was something better I would recommend that, but there isn’t.
You get what you pay for.
Want to learn Spanish? Do baselang.
Want to waste your time? Do duolingo.
Lol. Ciao!
Baselang is the best place that I've found for learning Spanish. They offer structure with flexibility and the instructors have been great. I originally planned to only use the service for the summer, but now I want to stay with it long-term.
