Horrible Experience!

I visited the Daphne AL location and even though the guy name Damien was short staffed he didn’t let that bother him or stop him he helped everyone with a smile he was polite and walk all of to our car this guy need a raise I’ve been here before and he’s always went above and beyond !

Hertz should be better than this...

When I dropped off the vehicle to the agency, I felt like my presence was more of an inconvenience than a welcomed customer. I had to wait for a personal conversation to end between the two agents on duty at the time. There wasn't a greeting, eye contact or thank you from the agent that took the time to ask me how she could help me, with her back to me and while she walked to fulfill some other more important task.

Inappropriate behaviour

No welcome word, Car or similar required not available, associates not kind at all and laughing on me - the manager asked if my husband spoke with a better English than me- Inappropriate and very disrespectful language. I was very bad starting my vacation in Kauai, Hawai.

Hired a car from Hertz at Belfast City…

Hired a car from Hertz at Belfast City Airport. On the day I was due to return the car I lost the car key!! I was in absolute shock - phoned Hertz at the airport and was told they could provide a spare key and that they would call me back. No return call despite several attempts to contact them again! Finally had to get a taxi to the airport to avoid missing our flight! We gave the hertz official all of our information and details of where the car was - parked in a car park 10 minutes from the airport. We checked our credit card a week later and charges of £765 had been taken! The cost of a replacement key was £250 plus vat. All the other charges were “charges relating to recovering the car” what an absolute shocker!! This company just adds whatever it can to inflate the bill!! Absolutely no customer service at all!! I queried all the charges and got absolutely nowhere!! The representatives at Belfast City were appalling! No help whatsoever! Apparently they ordered a recovery vehicle to collect the car - this presumably was because they couldn’t be bothered to drive the 10 minutes to collect it charging me £180! Don’t touch this company unless you want to be left with lots of extra charges!

Car had awful disinfectant smell. The rental desk kept trying to sell me the insurance I did not want, and they tagged on a charge for fuel that I specifically did not want.

Every time I rent with Hertz, I always have a wonderful experience. Great cars great company wonderful customer service thank you hearts for a wonderful wonderful customer service.

I hate that I had to give them any starts. I was renting a car at the Raleigh Durham Airport and although I had reserved the car days before I didn’t get the quick check in I had been promised. It took almost 2 hours to get a car I booked and had been confirmed. There’s too many good companies out there to waste time and money on Hertz.

Disappointing First Experience with Hertz

I typically rent with Enterprise, but I had a credit through my credit card that could be used with Hertz, so I decided to give them a try. Unfortunately, my first experience wasn't a great one. When I arrived for my 10:00 a.m. reservation, no one greeted me. After about 5–10 minutes, a woman came out from the back and explained that she was the only employee there. The representative who ultimately helped me was friendly and professional, but I didn't receive my vehicle until around 10:30 a.m., which is much longer than I've experienced with other rental companies. When I went outside to inspect the car, I was disappointed to find it had numerous scratches and dents, especially for a vehicle that was only about a year old. The interior also wasn't very clean—the seats had noticeable stains, and the car looked like it hadn't been thoroughly prepared for the next customer. I was already running behind, so I accepted the vehicle as it was. Before leaving, I noticed the fuel level on my rental agreement was higher than the actual fuel level in the car. I had to go back inside to have the paperwork corrected so I wouldn't be charged for gas I never received. On a positive note, the return process was quick and easy, and the car itself drove well without any issues. However, the delayed pickup, the condition of the vehicle, and the fuel discrepancy made for a disappointing first impression. While I appreciated the kindness of the employee who assisted me, I don't think I'll be choosing Hertz again in the future.

Blaming prior damage on customer

My car was damaged upon receipt. When I returned the car Hertz tried to blame me for the damage and begin a claim with my insurance even though the damage could be seen in their initial photos taken at pick up. This was incredibly stressful and completely unnecessary. They should have done their due diligence before placing blame on their customer, especially considering only even had the car for two hours. It took almost 2 weeks to resolve.
