Couldn’t ask for a better experience
Easiest, most transparent car hire experience I’ve ever had. Much cheaper than competitors but cars are in good condition and new(ish). Booked via email, paid when collected the car (cash or card accepted). No additional fees for insurance, extra drivers or young drivers (my partner and I are 23 and often have to pay extra when hiring a car). Just need to take your licence with you when collecting the car. Will collect from and drop you at the airport. We only had the car for a few days of our holiday so got the bus to and from the airport.

Great car hire experience
Great car hire experience. No additional costs and good condition car. Was worried that I had to drop passenger and luggage at airport before returning car to depot which is only 1km away. But all went smoothly and I was transported back to airport in a few minutes. Will definitely use again.

The best car hire company I have ever come across! Communication prior to our arrival was excellent - any questions were answered immediately. Pick up and return were both easy, no hidden extras. The one and only car hire to choose!
I have used Pefanis car hire for many years whilst visiting Kefalonia. Choice of cars is good, website easy to navigate and simple, "no hidden extras" approach means you know you are getting exactly what you pay for. The whole team are super friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hire a car from anyone else! And look forward to using them again. My tip? Book with them early to avoid disappointment!!

Excellent service from start to finish
Excellent service from start to finish. Answered my initial queries very quickly and concisely and offered a very competitive price of 110 euros for the week (13-20th October).
Landed late in Argostoli airport where driver took us to their office which was about 2 minutes away. Very quick handover of our Ford Fiesta which was in very good condition. Swift handover again when returning car. Recommend highly.

Regarding Mrs Marion Jessica review Pefanis car hire booked a suzuki vitara very new car for her at 180 euros for 5 days after her inquiry that was offered 125 euros initialy as we mentioned the price was Oct rate and not for May one.She confirmed and we delivered the car at agreed 180 euros price.
Also regarding Mrs Debbie Weston review we can say thew customer inquired and received a price but when tried to book the car was not available anymore so the customer NEVER BOOKED and NOT received the car booked.
Also regarding the two customers had old jimny jeeps for hire we had for last season on hire 4 old jimnies that were very well maintained but very old and just because many people were asking for soft top jeeps we used tooffer them at very low prices.The E.U legislation does not allow import of soft top cars anymore since 2008 therefore the cars were indeed very old.However all customers knew that in advance before book and therefore the price was very low.

This is by far the easiest car rental I have ever experienced, it took approx 10 minutes from walking out of departures to driving away. Price was exactly as quoted no hidden extras at all, dropped the car back and back to the airport in 5 minutes, fantastic service all round recommend 100%. I have friends going next year who are now going to book with Perfanis.

We hired a VW Polo for 12 days
We hired a VW Polo for 12 days. Whilst initially Pefanis struggled to find a suitable car I received an email confirming we would receive a Polo. The process both on arriving at Kefalonia Airport couldn’t have been smoother. Greeted by an English speaking gentleman outside the exit doors and a colleague of his took me a small compound by car. The forms were completed v quickly and I was in my car within 5 minutes. The English terms and conditions on the back of the hire form are v clear and favourable. The fact that there are no excesses (other than the clutch for some reason) is great as I’ve had 2 other hire co cars damaged whilst parked which adds stress to a holiday! The engine oil change service light was on all holiday and I advised the rep on returning. The rep didn’t really look at the car, just the fuel which was double what I’d collected it with, then asked me to jump in and drove me back to the airport. Again less than 5 minutes surprising my partner that I was already back! Pefanis has had some poor reviews here but I cannot recommend more and the Polo was v smart and clean with c 20km on it. Also €600 Euros for 12 days in Aug/Sept is good.

AVOID, AVOID, AVOID….
We hired a car via email in the earlier part of the year prior to our visit to Kefalonia.
We asked for a Suzuki Jimny.
We arrived on the day as agreed. The car was ready and the price agreed was as expected.
The car looked a little old but not the end of the world.
Took the car and realised we had been given a car without a working speedometer.
Within an hour the car had started seizing up as we drove. One minute we had acceleration, next minute nothing. This nearly caused a crash. The car was simply dangerous. I had my family on board and this was simply unacceptable.
(If you read more reviews looks like this shocking excuse of a company has been here with this car before)
We took the car back and asked for a refund.
The shockingly foolish, rude, dim and pointless woman who worked in the pefanis branch in lassi told us it was not a surprise as the car was old!!!!
Refused to issue us with a refund if we did not pay for the day we had the car!!!!
Could offer us no other cars as they were all booked.
This woman was a liability and clearly not fully functioning.
NEVER USE THIS COMPANY
In the end we used CBR car rental. Had to pay an additional £200 as it was now in season. (I might add the car was great, the service was great and we had no issues)
DO NOT USE THIS SHOCKING, DANGEROUS, UNTRUSTWORTHY COMPANY

Expensive pile of junk
Booked a two week rental well in advance for a Suzuki Jimny on our recent holiday in Kefalonia. It was a little more expensive than the "normal" type of vehicle, but we expected that for a soft top. Whilst I wasn't expecting a brand new car, nor was I expecting a car with nearly 180,000 kms on the clock!
The engine management light came on before we had even reached our hotel and it sounded like a bag of assorted spanners mechanically. Every time you went over a pothole or dip in the road it sounded like bits were going to drop off the thing. The brakes were lethal, requiring excessive effort to get them to work properly and the vibrations through the steering wheel were terrible. The drivers seat belt didn't work as it was frayed to buggery and wouldn't retract or pull out properly. If we had been in an accident it would have been useless. Also, the lights were absolutely crap with the output of a couple of candles, which ruled out using the vehicle after dark. I didn't fancy taking on the typical Kefalonia hairpin bends without some help!
I emailed Pefanis immediately we got to our hotel to let them know I wasn't happy with the car, and asking to change it. Their response was that they had advised me that the car was "older" when I booked it. Excuse me?? There's "older" and there's "ready for the breakers yard older" and I wasn't expecting the latter. When I then complained about the engine management light being on, I was told to ignore it!! That's great if the car had decided to give up the ghost in the back of beyond. Another point was that we were informed that the car had air conditioning. I guess it did if you pulled the soft top back, but we couldn't find a button for air conditioning so it didn't. Not very happy that I rented what was essentially a wreck of a car for over 550 euros. I won't be using Pefanis again that's for sure.

I have seen that other people before me reported the same issue.
I tried two times to book a car through their website, and two times I received an auto response mail saying 'someone would contact me ASAP to confirm prices and availability'.
I even sent an e-mail asking for a car availability and a quotation but without any answer.
I understand that they have a lot of customers in this period of year, but courtesy must not be forgotten!!!!

We hired a jeep for 2 days but had to change to just 1 has my daughter booked a boat trip, they were brilliant just adjusted the agreement, before we arrived they told us what we,d pay and it was hassle free, fully insured was told I was covered for everything so peace of mind, good car girls loved it sat in the back with the roof down, brilliant service honest and will definately use on our return next august

Superb. Proven fully comp, no excess.
I hoped to get hassle free car hire and didn't anticipate having an accident. It was fully comprehensive so apparently no need for excess. Bit perturbed when they wanted me to leave my wife at the airport while we went to get the car (about 500m away) but we avoided that thankfully. Signed for a VW Polo as per my request. Bit basic but happy to go. 1/4 tank so to return 1/4 tank. No extras to pay. All good. Day 3, passenger window seized up so went in on the way past and they replaced the car immediately with an even better, newer VW Polo. Very good service. All good. Day 4, driving out for lunch and some local tycoon (apparently) was tailgating me for a mile or so and I had 2 cars coming in the opposite direction so had to stop. Everyone stopped in good time except tycoon man who rode straight into the back of me. We exchanged details (he said tell them to phone him, they would know who he was) and I took the slightly dented car back in. After checking we were all ok, we were told there was no problem, that there would be no repercussions to us and THEN they asked whose fault it was?? and did we want another car. I said it was fine, we'd keep this one and off we went. True to their word, not a single repercussion. Dropped the car off and travelled home. Superb.
I can only imagine if I'd used a 'cheaper' place I'd have instantly been charged 1500 euros which I'd have to claim back on another excess policy (which we usually do take out). Very impressed at their positive attitude. Will use these again and I 100% trust their 'comprehensive' insurance.

Excellent and very reasonable priced
I found Pefanis car hire in Kefalonia excellent, they quoted a very reasonable hire which was fully inclusive of all insurance. Very relaxed people and car performed perfectly. They spoke excellent English and even had an English person to meet us at the airport.
Will certainly use them again.
