My person experience with Upstart
During my application process, upstart advertises rate start at 6.2%. My credit score is over 800, I have a four-year college degree, I make six figures and have a very low debt to income ratio. upstart offered me 10%. I do not believe the 6.2% is a real rate that anyone is able to obtain from this company. if an overly qualified borrower is still four points away from the lowest rate that is offered leads me to believe these are deceitful tactics. They also say the rate is generated by AI and they do not negotiate rates. In reality upstart seems to be a sub prime lender, which in itself is ok. However offering low rates they never intend on granting to anyone is not ethical. Just be honest and be the lender that you really are.
I would say their best rate is 10%. If one has earned a better rate, Upstart is not for you
The process was quick and simple and if you're in a jam and need a quick fix this is the way to go the rates ain't great they suck to be honest but when unexpected things happen that you can't control and you get desperate then sometimes this is the only route to go and it's good to know you have some kind of option other than going without a solution

Back against the wall
Listen I try not to do too many reviews but this one UPSTART deserves it. I am currently moving out of state with two kids in College and everything is on me. My kids are heading back to school any anybody that has sent kids to College knows that tuition is due before any class schedule and then this move.
I didn’t know about Upstart until my oldest daughter told me about it and I was praying to God for a break through.. knowing I have the money but taking from my kids tuition was not an option… and then there’s upstart.. they came through for me and all I can say is Thank You so so much for helping me and my family.. Now I can focus on dropping my kids off to college versus stressing over this move.
