Their customer service is terrible
Their customer service for assistance is horrible. Having to redeem a gift card for another is a bit strange already, but I imagine it allows for flexibility for the gift receiver to select purchases from merchants they most desire. I did complete the redemption, shopped in person at the merchant but they were unable to enter the gift card number indicating it was 4 digits too long. Thus, the reason I called Zift for help and all the rep could do was resend me the merchant gift card which resulted in the same card number as the original which didn't work. Even clarifying that with the rep did not help because according to them, as long as the merchant card is issued it's out of their hands. Perhaps the merchant errored despite many attempts to enter the card number, but if not one would think you'd get more help than I did. I simply got canned answers that did not resolve the issue and I can't use this. It's said Zift is not a scam, but it certainly feels like one.
