Being a keen knitter and crocheter I decided to try and buy my own yarn to save money. What a disappointment. Although the goods did arrive, I was specifically informed that I wouldn't have to pay extra duty when it came into the UK - I was charged another 30% by Customs & Excise. On top of that I asked for Double Knit (8 ply) or aran (10-12 ply) which he said was "2/30 nM" which I accepted at face value and now I am stuck with 8kgs of wool which is all single ply and cost me more than it would have if I'd just bought here.
