Very Disappointed – Product Did Not Work as Advertised
I purchased a Road Top CarPlay/Android Auto interface for my 2017 Mercedes GLC 300, and unfortunately the experience has been extremely disappointing. After installation, the unit had numerous problems. Bluetooth connectivity was unstable, especially when two phones were present. Audio through Spotify would skip and stutter, phone call quality was terrible with severe echoing, the system would randomly shut down or reboot, and the interface was slow and sluggish. I spent considerable time troubleshooting the unit, and the installation instructions and video provided by Road Top were not very helpful. I ultimately had to use a competitor’s installation video to properly complete the installation. After determining that the unit simply did not perform as advertised, I requested a full refund. Even though I was returning the product because of performance and operational problems—not because I changed my mind—Road Top still expected me to pay the return shipping costs. I have returned the unit with tracking and am currently awaiting my full refund. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that potential buyers carefully review this company’s return policies and customer reviews before purchasing. A product that does not function as represented should not result in the customer having to spend additional money simply to return it.
