Hydrow

Beware rising subscription fees and lack of support

I originally purchased my Hydrow in June 2021. I’ve been a subscriber the whole time, but with rising subscription costs, I can honestly say it is not worth it anymore. They keep rising the price of the subscription, and it seems like even with increasing the price that they don’t have a sustainable business. I just want to row, I don’t want all the other stuff, so many other apps do yoga and strength far better and cost less, just stick to what you do great—the rowing. If you have all the money in the world then Hydrow is probably fine for you, but if you have any sort of budget then stay away from this company. I’ve been incredibly disappointed with the support for milestones—after I hit the 1 million meters, I wasn’t able to get my reward item and it’s been almost 2 years. They’ve now sent me a link for a T-shirt but want me to pay £16 for shipping, blaming rising costs. I’ve enjoyed a lot of the rows, but the live rows are set for US-friendly times only, making it almost impossible to take part in if you live elsewhere. I would prefer them to charge less for just the rows or a certain number of rows, rather than increasing the monthly fees so they can just create more and more content that I won’t use. The actual Hydrow rowing machine has been great, I just wish there were reasonable fees for the subscriptions and a more inclusive community for non-US people.
